Not sure if this clashes with any of the club meets etc but just spotted it and thought some people may be interested.

Get to be a passenger round Combe in a Porsche or Ferrari etc for £20 8)
I have just received an email from the organiser asking if we would like a club stand. We did go last year which was really good. The yellow Asbo was giving rides last year Steve. 8)
It is a good event & it is for a good cause so the £5 entry fee is worth it.
So who would like to go to this?
Very tempted. I'll have to just check with the boss!
If it is anything like Monday it will be speedboats, jet-skis and power boats!
But presuming it is dry then - HEY!

Is that a hint Colin!!? ;D
I'd like to go to this I think. Even if it rains (again) it could be a decent day out.
If its dry I'm up for it.
Yes from me.
I went last year and had my first experience in a Radical. The one to go for, but you'll have to be quick, is grab a passenger ride with one of the drift guys. Wow!
Of course, if its wet.... :(
I'm probably ok for this, weather permitting of course.

If we have a club stand do we also join in with offering passenger rides in our cars? or are we just a static display?
We would be just a static display Dave. :)
Last time I went to a static display all the cars were yellow, gave me a real nasty shock - boom boom! ;D
I did this event last year and gave rides in the Westie. Not too many takers. I had about 5 passengers. I did not get an invite this year! :(

Why not, did you leave them with kaki pants ;D
I really should go to celebrate the end of my first year of kit car ownership. I collected the Spyder on 1st Nov last year. I'll probably be on dog walking duty so wouldn't get there 'till about 11:30 - would that be okay?
Don't see why not Dave. :)

It's usually located between the clutch and the propshaft.
Sorry I could not resist that one, in fact I'm dissapointed no one else beat me to it!! (Dave BM51 you are slipping mate!) :P
And the bloke that sold it to me said it was front wheel drive, I may be looing in the wrong place Lol

Can i come in the BM as the weatfield still in bits, you know the case, when you do one thing then others jobs pop up, next thing you know, the chassis and a pile of bits are on the garage floor!!
You will probably have to park in the visitors parking mate but we all pay the same to get in anyway. :)
They have asked us to be there by 9.30 am before they start letting in the public in so please do your best to get there on time. I won't do a meeting to go there in convoy as I have no idea what the weather is going to be doing.
I know 2 guys have stated they will be there later which should be fine having the odd person getting there later.
Just tell them at the gate when you pay your £5 that you are on the BKCC stand.
You will be able to leave any time you like though. :)
Please bring your £5 meal deposit's as well. 8)
Will any of you VFC guys be involved in taking passengers round the track Colin? I am keen to go round with someone who knows what they are doing so I can get a feel for the track ready for next years 1st track day in the Lil' Red Devil! ;D
No mate they already have people they ask each year. :)

Cool. I will see who is offering rides on the day I guess. Just book and pay then I presume?
Looks like the weather will be OK ;D
I'm not convinced yet Gary! Hope so though.
OK change of plan
Sorry not my doing
They would like us to be there by 8.30-9am now. So if you can get there just that little bit earlier then great.
They have also just sent me the passes & have asked me if possible to hand them out as you go in & then you pay me so I can pay them. Sorry long story but all the money goes to the Stroke foundation this way.
Because of this I will be at the Cross Hands Hotel, Tetbury Road, Old Sodbury, Bristol, Gloucestershire BS37 6RJ at 8.20 to leave by 8.30am to arrive by 8.45am. Who ever will be going straight there just tell them your on the BKCC stand & we have your passes. Any problems call me or just pay them the £5.
Sorry I have only just been asked to do this.
We are in area F13-F16 (Same grass area as the kit car show but just to the side where the Westfield club stand was)
So who's still going & what are your plans just so I have some idea? :)
Weather permitting of course.

I'm still going and would imagine fidodido will be coming along as well, hopefully will be at the cross hands in plenty of time to grab a pass
Still going hoping to meet at pub Tony
I will be going but from Chippenham. I will see you inside. Seniors only need to pay £2.50 but I don't think I will tell them I am a senior. Well, its for charity...and my vanity.
I would still like to come and get onto the club area but I've got some carer responsibilities to discharge before I can head off so there's no way I can get there that early. I'll try to get them to let me in when I arrive.
Hoping to be at the pub if the weather is good enough, if not I'll go straight there later if it has improved by then.
Atm the forecast is overcast but dry and mild with a small chance catching the odd shower but as well all know it changes by the hour more often than not.
It's Frank Bough again. Now it will bloody rain :'(
Recon Dixie and myself are still going but will be a bit late.
Might be both in the Hood as Dixie has some trouble with water all over the garage floor and fears he has punctured
the radiator on a traffic "calming" bump.....he's bl**dy furious not calm!! :( :(
Colin
See you at the cross hands, cheers
I'll see you at the Crosshands too.....
....unless it is wet.
Also see you at the Cross Hands with my son (he's going to risk another trip in the kit car which is a very rare occurrence)
Unless it's wet!
Cool thanks for letting me know guys. :)

Latest Points West forecast is now showing that the nice sunny weather predicted for Sunday has now moved a day forward to..... Saturday!!!! Yay!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)
What's for forecast for Monday?
Atm Damo Monday's forecast is cloudy/overcast but dry and mild at about 13 degrees C so a bit cooler that Saturday which currently from midday onwards is looking like a blinder, dry, sunny and a whopping 17 degrees! Let's hope it stays that way. The morning is set to be dry but cloudy so it looks like we may have a great day at Combe considering it is almost November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come the Saturday it will be less than 8 weeks til Xmas, oh joy of joys! ;D
Dixie got his car fixed so we will both be ok for Saturday! :D

I'm going to have to cry off. I've been off work all week with a bad cold (bordering on flu?). I had hoped I'd be back at work today and thus fit for tomorrow but I'm still rough so I think it will be wiser to do the minimum possible tomorrow.
I've been so bad this week I didn't even go out to the shed so no further progress on my engine :(
Thanks for letting me know mate. :) Hope you feel better soon.
There are a lot of bugs about atm Dave, I have had one for the last 5 days also. If I don't make the morning meet at the X Hands I will trundle down at lunchtime cos I really don't want to miss this one if I can help it.

Damn it missed that in the copy and paste, from memory I think it was atoms and a radical Steve.
See my post above Damo. From what I found via Google it was group R not D and yes you are right, A FEW Radicals/Atoms etc!! Nice!
I suspect Group D is the Drift cars, nearly all of which seem to be Nissans
You are probably right, I have deleted the email now so can't see what they are, will find out tomorrow I guess

I'm really jealous! I see the Raffo Belva guy came too (Tone?) Would have liked to have met you and seen that beauty in the flesh.
That Raffo was certainly no riff raffo (ooh, that sucks), it was a real beaut of a car.
I can hand on heart say that today at Combe was a very special day for me and one of the best days I have had in decades. Met my old best mate who I lost touch with around 25 years ago after our Club Lotus days ended and we were like two kids all day long. Turns out he runs a Caterham hire company now (what are the bloody odds!!!) plus has his own Radical!! :o
I had a flippin fantastic day, he took me round the track in his Caterham Tracksport and scared the living daylights out of me, boy oh boy can that guy drive. He drifted it on purpose through every single bloody corner and was sideways just for fun (which I have no doubt slowed him down), with a combined weight of over 200+kgs of humans on board and only 140bhp he still lapped in under 1:22 -on road tyres!!!! The only two cars that got past us were a Radical and that Porsche mega thing (£650 grands worth I think?) which set it's silencer on fire!!! Fanbloodytastic!!! My arms and legs still ache from clinging on!!
I'm sure he will be joining the club - another VFC member for sure 8) 8)
Very envious! Great day for it and it sounds like it was good fun. :D. It curtainly beats cutting the lawn and breaking the lawn mower :(
Looks and sounds like a great day, maybe next year for me as soon as my workload drops :(
Great to see everyone yesterday. It was a good turn out from the club.
I enjoyed two passenger rides in Drift cars. Wow! I have seen the drifters at Combe many times but I have always wanted to see what it was like to be inside the car. What a ride! Mega sideways and car filling with tyre smoke. Those guys have some serious skill and some serious cars.
I was lucky I booked early as there were a few casualties among the drift cars (a crash, mechanical issues and a fire) so there was not enough cars to go around by the afternoon session. First come, first served so I was alright jack!
