Bulldog Bri

I have popped over to Bristol Banner & Signs this morning and asked about getting a banner made up for our club....

The cost I was quoted are:-

3m x 1m banner £120+vat (£138)
3m x 60cm £90+vat (£103.50)

These are properly edged with eyelets. It will have a black background with the club logo and website, as per the club cards...

What does the club think about getting one of these made?

Has to be done at some point !

Need something to put out at places on a couple of poles /trees etc.

dave_bence

How about a banner flag, mounted on a plate that goes under a car's wheel?

Perfect if there are no fences or trees about!

Richard

A heavy stone or person needed, a car owner would have to be confident the flex in the plate was small.

Anyone good at photoshop or something to show what banners might look like ?

Great idea Bri, but I wonder how many peeps would like to contribute to the cost?

Anyone?

G & Toniq pledges £20

dave_bence

Another £20 from me.

I'm happy to put the rest in and get the banner on order...

I'll order the 3m x 600cm size. As that is said to be the more normal size  ;)

If anyone else wants to contribute at the next club meet to help, that would be great..

'The Gaffer'

Damn, Dave we should have kept our mouths shut, Bri would have stumped up the whole lot  ;D ;D

Only joking mate.

Any more contributions welcome.

Mark G

If you've not ordered these yet then I may be able to get them cheaper than you've stated above.

I'd need a few days but I'll try to get a price for you.

Bulldog Bri

Ok Mark. See what you can come up with. I do have the PDF file if needed, though it is for the club cards (8 cards to an A4 sheet) but that should help if needed.

Nice one Mark  :)

Happy to contribute at next meet

Bulldog Bri

Hey Mark, Have you found out any info on a club banner yet?

Mark G

I'll chase it up tomorrow,  Basically a friend of a friend owns/runs a graphics company.  I know he's had banners off him before and I'm sure they didn't cost that much.

Like I said, I'll chase up tomorrow and let you know.

No, sorry boys I've still not heard anything.  I'll try and chase it up again.

I did drive past a banner place by brislington hill the other day and they had a banner outside saying banners from £50.  Can't remember the name of the shop though.  Anyone know the one I mean?  Its a couple of doors down from Ladder tool hire and across the road from Lidl/Aldi.

When I spoke to the people at Bristol Banners, they told me that they did do cheaper Banners as well but these were not finished around the edges and that after a strong wind if they get a rip they don't last very long, really only designed for one off type use...

The prices I gave to start with here were for banners that are properly edged and with the eyelets for hanging...

Excellent, well done mate  :)

See pic of new banner in Bulldog Bri's album http://bristolkitcarclub.co.uk/smf2/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=album;id=9

Bulldog Bri

Just a passing thought, with all the track events being orginised, would it be an idea to hang the club banner up in the pit area (if allowed) it may catch a few new members.... If so I can pass it on to who ever is going...
