'The Gaffer'

I have just received paperwork from Grosvenor Shows re The Stoneleigh Kit Car Show 2012. Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May 2012 (May Bank Holiday weekend)

This is 'the' show of all kit car shows and I will book a club stand as usual, we have been allocated our usual stand (54F) See map.

I know its early and things change but do you intend going? With car? Camping? Put your names down please so we can get an idea of numbers.

It should be mentioned that if you decide to come in your kit / sports car, you will not be expected to stay the 2 days on the BKCC stand, just park your car on it for as long as you are around. You are free to come and go when and as you please.

Camping is optional but could be fun, a great chance to get to know each other over a tipple or two.

The most important thing is that we actually do look like a serious club with some cars, and not an empty plot that could have been issued to another club. More info about the show can be found at www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk

1.  The Gaffer, with car, camping weather dependant.
2.  Speedy J, with car, camping weather dependant.

I'll probably be there on one day with the Shelsley - Damn that'll mean washing it :(

I'll certainly plan to go.  Whether or not the Gemini Racecar will be in a fit state to be trailered up is another matter.

danwilko

i shall be going but wouldnt like to confirm in the kit car yet, as STILL havent sold the frp yet, although back on ebay

and with wedding in march honeymoon in april it'll be a struggle...but it is a mission :D (definatley want it for goodwood revival)

I'm deffinately going. Not sure if for the day or on both days yet, But I don't think I will be camping though as I don't know how I would fit A tent in the westy?

YellaBelly

Hoping to go for the 2 days next year, always a rush when we just go for one day.

I'm planning on going on Saturday, it will be the first time I've taken my car to a show, so be gentle with me  ;)

I had a good chat with RMW50 last year and next year hope join you all on the BKCC pitch with my newly completed Aries Locoblade.

Cheers,
Iain

RMW50

Ian,

Good to hear that you will be able to make it this year with your Aries, it will be great to see it! Try and make the two days, last year was a good fun, I took my youngest Daughter and my mate Pete came with his son, the camping was an added bonus with great company with Tony, Pete, Brian and Anna. If you need to drop off essentials like a tent etc anytime before hand just let me know, I am only 20 mins away from Stoneleigh - if that helps with the logistics, or if Tony and Pete are travelling in the big camper then they may be able to help with transporting some gear (Wallnut and Hairy Santa that is).

I will be there for both days, hopefully with Pete, Joel and Emily.

Rich

Krazyken

I will be there one of the days depending on the weather.

David H

best place to get rags, polishing kit and all sorts of stuff as well as see all the amazing machinery.

I might camp..

oneleg

Me and my brother intend taking both Tigers with a passenger each for the two days  8)

The Great Redmondo

Plan to go on one of the days as I thoroughly enjoyed the run up last year.  Definitely taking Pheobe (read Cobra).

YellaBelly

Definitely plan to go, I am putting in holiday now before they send me somewhere nasty again :)

Hope to make both days this year, it saves trying to tear around in one day!

'Mendip Wurzel'

There is cheap onsite accommodation for those who may wish to stay overnight as it can be quite cold this time of the year. It was £30 for a twin room (£15 each), it may cost more now.... Rooms are small but have heating and a basin with shared toilets and showers. There is nicer onsite accommodation but it costs a lot more. There is also camping.

Room that I stayed in a few years ago......

Moleman

The cheap rooms does seem a good option if your not keen on camping as doing both days might be better than one long day trying to see everything.

Quantum owner

Im planing on going for both days with my father not sure on camping yet.

Almondsburyhills

Planning on going to this event with sumov8, camping aswell.
Will be a test in the Dutton before driving to the the Le mans classic in July fully kitted up for camping.
Weather shouldnt be a problem, getting through the mot first could be the problem!  8)

Never had to much trouble getting though there, could be slow for about 20mins thats all, but if we're all together on time then we'll just get going.

8)

Just a quick thought, Who's got the club banner? and are you going? if not I can collect it before hand.

stevel

I will be going but not sure which day, will know a bit closer to the weekend.  Is the convoy running both days?  i will be going from Gloucester so can hopefully hook up along the route somewhere.

I believe Dave Bence has it.

Moleman

I have just booked the cheap accomadation on site which is still only £30. So I will be doing both days & will prob be at the second meeting point.  ;D ;D ;D

Bulldog Bri

Just to Clarify the Route. We go up the A46, turn off on to the A433 till it meets the A429 just before Cirencester, then follow that almost all the way.  ;D

At what speed?  :-\

Bulldog Bri

If I'm leading (as usual) then it will be normal convoy speeds between 40 and 50 on the open roads, other than that what ever we're stuck behind.  ;D Lol
