SORRY SHORT NOTICE
But can you decide on this very quickly please.

The Stroke association are having a fund raising day at Castle Combe Race circuit this Saturday 25th October.

Here is the site link   http://www.stroke.org.uk/event/supercarsaturday

As you can see there is a lot to see & do & there will be a wide range of cars there. We have been invited to go up for the day to display our cars for the paying public to see. It will mean getting there for 9am but you can leave any time you like.
I know it's weather dependant but who is up for this short notice display foe a good cause?
Please reply to this as quickly as you can even if it's a no I just need to tell them if it's a on for us or not.
I will arrange somewhere to meet up so we go in together on Thursday depending on what response I get.
Thanks Colin.

Yes from me. 'W.D.' of course.

This is something very close to me, as my wife had a Stroke back in February this year. So support for this event is crucial for the Stroke Society to function. I will be there (not in my 7 I will add). Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. 8)

'The Gaffer'

Sorry I'm busy but if things change I will be there.

CC Cyclone

Family commitment unfortunately for me Colin, especially after I got away with last weekend.
Great cause though, well worth supporting.

Robert

Hope this is ok.  :)

Yawn,

Colin, No problem, who needs sleep on a Saturday anyway. :)

Crash Test Dummy might come later

Iancider

The Weather is looking GOOD for Saturday.

Sunny intervals, Dry 13 degrees but with a brisk warming breeze from the Southwest.

Krazyken

I will be there as MC on the mic for the day, so will ensure you all get lots of interviews/publicity for braving the elements.

Moleman

We will see you there then Ken.  8)

I will definitely arranging us all to meet at the Cross Hands pub (BS37 6RJ) for about 8.20am now instead of 8.45am  as  they would like us there by 8.30 so everyone is in place at the start.
Hope this is ok.  :)
We have a good spot so I hope to see you all at the Cross Hands. PM me if you cant make it.
Colin.

PS if anyone is thinking of getting there later please let me know.

I'm going to try to make this in the Westy.  If I don't get to the Cross Hands on time tomorrow morning, don't wait for me; I'll see you at Combe.

Sorry I can't be more precise. I may have the family with me = tintop+public car park.

robp

...got to get me a ride in a SR3! !  8)

robp

I managed to get over to this event for a couple of hours.  Very good and well organised.

Did it and Wow! :o 8)

I really wanted to know want it was like in a Radical SR3.  It took a lap and a half to get the tyres up to temperature and then things really started.  Acceleration was good but the big difference was the high speed grip and cornering (thanks to downforce) and also amazing under braking.  Not unsurprisingly we passed everyone.

The part I remember most was overtaking around the outside through the left hander of Avon Rise and approaching Quarry at a speed that would spell disaster in the Westfield but just flying around the corner.  Also, the high speed stuff through Old Paddock and down to Tower was amazing.

Great experience and all for charideeee.  :D

I had a similar experience to Rob. I went out with Andy Laurence in his ADR. The braking and cornering forces are just ridiculous :o

My little Onyx is going to feel so slow after that :(

After watching a lot of the action from the bank at Camp corner, special mention must go to Robin in his ASBO 2. Very impressive 8)

Iancider

As Moleman says it was well worth it.

For the first time I got to walk around the whole track perimeter, video camera in hand.  The angles look quite different as a pedestrian and the gradients and dips are very apparent.  I caught a lot of action and will be posting the video soon.

Driving techniques were very different - from the Supercar owners who really didn't want to bend something valuable to Asboman looking utterly impressive all of the time.  And in complete contrast to the super cautious Supercars were the Drifters chucking the back out on every corner and keeping it sideways for up to 150 metres afterwards - lots of very impressive smoke.  One viewer up at Quarry said "I can't work out if these guys are really really good or just unable to get round corners!"  Watch this space and you can judge for yourselves!
