I guess this is likely to be an open event as I just can't see how anybody can be expected to control numbers in a public space. I suppose PistonHeads are at least trying to show willing in keep it sensible.
Just logged onto the Piston Head site, with a view to register my Hood for the Cheddar event, but I have to wait 24 hrs before I can pm the organiser, hope I hav'nt left it too late,as I really want to go on this one.

I just PM you ......
I may pop along to this, just park up somewhere out of the way in the DERV.
Also just to say that the OP on the pistonheads site said 'Of course we can't stop you from turning up unannounced but we've got to be seen to be responsible.' Which to me means that everyone is welcome but they have to do something to keep the locals happy (and don't drive like a muppet).
Hope to see you all there.
Mark.
I'm in thanks to Kev. ;D
Hugh at Piston Heads says that we are all welcome......just email him your details to go on the official list.
PM me or Mendip Worzel for email address.

anyone booked up the CAFE seats as yet - ;)
"anyone booked up the CAFE seats as yet"
No booking made yet as far as I know.
I'm going to Paul Hartley's tomorrow so I will provisionally reserve a table of ten for 11:30.
Let me know if you think that the time should be altered.
Please post if you wish to go to Hartley's for breakfast-lunch so that I can adjust the numbers for Paul.
Many thanks. Casino

I reckon we may need to book a bit later. Reading the PistonHeads website it is not clear if this is a 10.00 or 11.00am start. I'm not sure what everbody else thinks but I reckon nearer to 12.30/1.00pm may be closer to the mark for Hartleys.... Hartleys can get quite full for Sunday Lunch.
The PistonHeads website did mention that some may be going to the Burrington Inn after the Cheddar Meet which is another option..... food is not so good there.
Thanks Kevin.
I've just had confirmation from the PistonHeads organiser that it is a 11.00 AM start this year.
I've now provisionaly reserved ten places at Hartley's Kitchen for 12:30.
( Booking places for meals on a Sunday lunch time is very dificult )
( if we are a lot more than ten in number it could be embarrasing ). Casino
Im hoping to be there, weather permitting
Tony
i will join convoy kings head lets hope fore good weather

If you look at my updated post we are up to a possible 10 already......do you think we need a few more seats at Hartleys?
As for the Burrington inn i often eat there.....never had a bad meal and cheaper than Hartlleys. ;)
I think 10-10 30 am at Churchill will be about right???
Tony
The problem with booking extra seats at Hartley's is if it rains and nobody turns up it could be even more embarrassing.
The weather for Sunday at the moment is saying possible light rain showers.
I will be waiting at the Churchill Inn stop, weather permitting.
For those who may not know the 'Churchill Inn' it is located on the main A38 through Churchill (BS25 5NL).
My wife will be there so we are potentially up to 11, and if Hairy Santa attends he could want two meal so that is arguably 12
Yes your right Kev......can't accurately say how many is coming. We can't win... ::)
Personally I wouldn't worry.. Hartley's should be prepared for 5 to 12 people on the fly - That's what restaurants do. We're not exactly two coach parties.
It could be zero if the weathers bad.
Re Hartley's.........
I have arranged to phone Paul Hartley with our numbers an hour or so before we arrive.
He is flexible about this.
Re timing, 10:30 at Churchhill is too late.
We should be parked-up in the Gorge by then.
Weather forecast looks a bit more encouraging for Sunday thank goodness.....hope it keeps improving. ::)
What times are we doing for the meets then.....don't see the point of getting there an hour early though.......Casino??

In that case we probably need to aim for the Churchill at about 10.00 to 10.15am as we always seem to have a bit of a chat at each stop.
Sounds a good idea to ring Hartley on the day as we don't want to upset Paul if the weathers not good.
OK Guys ( and Gals ),
REVISED TIMES
Meet at first lay-by, southbound, after Kings Head roundabout, Bishopsworth, Bristol on A38 at 9:45.
Depart PROMPT at 10:00
Pick-up piont at The Chruchill Inn, Churchill A38 ( meet at 10:00 ) to join convoy at 10:15.
Looking up weather forcast on Metcheck for Wells ( nearest town to Cheddar and Hartley's ) looking reasonable if a bit chilly.

Hi all,
It was good to see some familiar faces today, shame the turnout wasn't quite the same as last years meet but still a worthwhile trip none the less.
Some of you may or may not be aware but I'm trying to start a photography company where I provide many different services. If you're interested my website address is www.yourphotographicservices.co.uk (http://www.yourphotographicservices.co.uk)

Some good pictures there mark I wish I was there but was far too hungover to continplate driving from the dinner night last night I wouldn't mind but didn't even drink that much must be getting old
Had to turn up in a tin top as I had the wife, sister in law and children on board, nice number of cars turned out before weather went dark, Low on last year from what I hear so the limit appears to have worked for Piston Heads but not for the viewers.
;D
Pleasant day, but cold. Harleys was nice and warm. We had 7 cars in attendance. Rain held off for most of the time until I got a few hundred yards from home and then it hail stoned, couldn't see where I was going and the dog crawled down into the footwell to escape.
Enjoyed the drive except for the brief "wetting" on the way there......tried the theory of driving faster to stay dry. (doesn't work does it!) ???
Must admit I was a bit disappointed after last year......not many cars and no atmosphere, if they held it later in the year again it would have been more popular and a lot warmer!
Not many people hung around 'cause it was so cold. I was a lot warmer driving with the roof down than walking around the Gorge. :(
On the positive side, we had a nice breakfast at Hartley's and the company was good.....nice to see Walnutt out and about again in the old Ferrari lookalike.....always looks nice, (no, not Walnutt lol!!) :-[
Can't wait for some nice Spring weather.....bring it on!! :D
Tony
Glad all went well, shame it was a little quiet there :( And cold :(.
As Tony says, roll on the spring!! This winter seems to be going on forever.
Nice pics Mark, did anyone else get any?

Yes, we all took some but are struggling to post them on the new forum....any chance you can simplify the process like it was before please Phil....I could not figure it out and i'm sure i'm not alone. :-[
I took some video footage using the cheap £13 car cameras that quite a few are purchasing. I though the picture quality was good, especially seeing it was taken through my windscreen. The footage is a bit boring, mainly the backend of Tonys (Paintmans) kit car.
