Well I have just SORN the Cob.  Going to do some jobs I have been meaning to do for months.

Re-building the exhausts and manifolds.  replacing the cracked windscreen  and re-trimming the interior.  Should keep me busy for a few months.

Also brought some Smiths guages on EBAY.  Real bargin, got a fuel gauage, temp gauge and voltage gauge, and AMP gauge for £75.  Just need to get a reverse speedo now.

Also decided not send my car away to get trimmed now, going to do it myself.

Going to try and get it all Aluminium, as per the origional.  We'll see how difficult it is first.

Keep you posted, looking to scab a seat for the Exeter Kit car show.

Good for you Mark.

Hope all goes well, keep us up to date with some pics.

I'm sure some people including myself will give you a hand if needed.

Why do you need to know how fast you're going in reverse Mark? ;) :-X

I'll get my coat....

Started hacking the exhaust about.  Now a much better job.  Previously the exhaust went from 50mm on the headers to 35mm on the exhaust which obviously created a restriction.  So I have cut the old 35mm bend out and welded a 50mm stub in.  Just got to do the O/S now.

Exhaust back together now.  Needed to re-position the outlet on manifold, not a huge job just a pain in the a**e.

Also need a 11 deg bend, so cut a lttle slot in the long pipe and bent to shape, fits perfectly.  Trial fit proved it all fits, all I have to do now is weld up and finish job and cover in heat resistant tape to stop the engine compartment getting so hot.

Now onto the other side.

Nice work, it will be interesting to hear the difference due to de restricting.

I think someone is enjoying themselves here.

Good work.

Would have been interesting to see a rolling road data before and after. Either way you'll feel happier and you had the fun of doing it.

Rich.

Had a rolling road test a few months ago.  165BHP at the back wheels, plus 182N/M of torque.  Thats not bad for a 1976 LC 3500cc RV8.

Nice to be back out in the garage and not having to watch the rubbish on TV.

It does happen, me and overalls just not very often.  O/S next, then finish interior.  Going to re-build the rear brakes, going to change to from drums to discs.  Then going to take petrol tank out and put the sender in correctly so it reads empty when actually empty.

Just brought 6 x Smiths guages, including a dual oil pressure/water temp guage.  Unfortuneately the capillary is broken so looking for an old mechanical water guage I can rob one from.  Has anyone got a spare???

Finished the O/S today, very pleased.  Onto the radiator now, I need a nice small expansion tank to go with my header tank.  Car builder solutions has one, but might be too big.
