Bristol Classis car people have called me to ask do we want a club stand at the Ford classic car show and Autojomble.

Downside will be that if cars are inside, they cannot be removed until late Sunday afternoon when show has finished.

Please see web site below

http://www.bristolclassiccarshow.co.uk/

If we just want to turn up and support the show we can get a reduced price on pre-booked tickets using the code EV12

Just trying to guage interest.  If none, then I will just go down on my own probably with Tony, Paintman and Stupot.

If I have not heard anything by end of next week, I will call them and decline their offer.

Regards Mark

EDIT: Added thread to calendar

Sorry Dixie, I will be abroad that weekend otherwise would have been up for it.

As a note to all, I know how frustrating it can be when you try to organise something and then get very little interest.  We all appreciate that some will have tucked their cars away for the winter but any club is only as big as its members and their level of activity.  Just my thoughts and 2p.

Dixie

No worries Ken.

Not the best time of year I agree, but would have been nice for at least a little interest to be shown, even if you don't take your car you can have a scab round the autojumble.

But we do seem to be a club that talks alot and not drive a lot.  But I suppose we are forum based, so by its very nature we are going to get that. How many trips away did ACKCC club do this year, and they seem to be in the mag every other month, that also might be because Ian Stent lives near by.

Phil suggested quite correctly that we all ought to have a go at organising 1 x event each per person during the season, I for one just do not have the time or patience to do it, if all we get is a blank page.

Just my opinion, not worth a great deal I know.

Thanks for trying though Dixie.
It is abit bad timing as I started doing afew mod's on mine & it's still up on stands at the mo & wasn't sure if I would be done in time for it.
I would of hated to say yes then let you down at the last minute. I will still be going though just not sure in which car yet.  :)

Casino went last year.....is he well?     He has not posted for months.....anyone heard from him?      Tony

Yep, thanks for trying Mark. This type of event does not interest me too much but others maybe could have shown an interest :(

If it's any consolation, your thread on re - trimming your old Cobra has been the most popular thread on the forum with around 12,000 reads to date.

Agreed Ken.

Someone told me he had moved, I will drop him an email to see what he is up to.

Just a reminder about the show and auto-jumble for those who missed it........good day out with loads of cars and things to see! ;)

Oh well, p**s poor response from our club, as we have come to expect South of the border :(

I was asked to arrange an event.  This seemed ideal, early in the year, so if cars couldn't be used, there was plenty to see and be undercover.  Best Auto-jumble for ages, and loads of trade stands.

Didn't realise when I did it that it clashed with Queens Sq.

I had arranged with the organisers for us to have a 50% discount, dedicated stand/area, priority parking etc.  Sadly no interest, from a club with over 200 members.

Back in 2011, Phil asked what you wanted from your club, if it's just a Forum or a track day club thats fine, but it ain't for me, I like driving, not talking about it.  So I will be continuing to go out with the Somerset Chapter, and do another 3000 miles.

As you can tell I am a bit pi**ed off. Took me some time to organise, then had to phone up and cancel.  Tell you something for free, won't be doing it again.

Well i appreciated all your efforts Mark as we had a really good day out with a lot to see.   As you said, a really good auto-jumble and car show.....bigger and better than Exeter in my opinion and right on our dood step! ;)

Try not to get to down about it, you may have got a better turn out if it was held later in the year.
Sadly it really was bad timing for me or I would have gone. (didn't even make it in the van :()
Once again thanks for trying though.
