Title: Latest Combe Video
Post by: Daley Down Under on 23, October, 2010, 12:22:24 PM
Did Combe again yesterday - fanstastic afternoon session.  Managed to slice a second off best lap time.  Two laps at 1:15.0 and 1:15.1.  Starting to come together.

Nearly a 1.14.avi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kHwry_t0wo#)

Looking good Adrian,

When are you coming to play in the Castle Combe Gts with us?

What tyres are you using??

The Nemesis is out next weekend at Donington hopefully and the college has sold its Clubsport and I have managed to persuade them to get a PR6 like Dads (although not quite to the same high spec). Expecting 6s at Combe as I managed a 1m9.0s in the Clubsport last time out.

Hope your keeping well

Josh

Josh,

Good to see you on here - the club is excellent and a few BECs  to boot (inc Turbo Busa).

I still maintain the Marlboro Car should be quicker than it is - stronger front springs have made a big difference but back end will still not grip enough.  I'm running R888s as I cant get hold of 15 inch slicks easily.  Tempted to let Erling Jensen have a butchers when I'm next at Combe.  I have no idea what to do next.

I see Darcy is planning to use the Nemesis at Combe next year in the GT championship.  I wont be joining you - I can use the excuse of being bsuy with the kids during the weekend.  Good luck with the PR6 and you quest for 6's.

Catch up soon,

Adrian

Adrian

You can use Dry Rally 15" slicks, I have a contact for these PM me if you are interested.  With regards to the back end I would recommend Track Developments for a full set up.  Those 2 refinements should sort you out and get you closer to 1.10 a lap.

Thanks for the recomendation Ken

However Adrian, I recon from your visit here the car is probably well set up but I did note how much work was needed from the cockpit.

Another service we offer to serious track users and racers is our analysis service.

We measure the suspension to obtain roll centres, antidive and antisquat characteristics. We them plot these values and the corner weights into our RaceDyne programme. From the analysis we can assess the understeer/oversteer balance.

Assuming the geometry is good, we then, by varying the spring rates and antiroll bar rates nominated in the programme cycle through a variety of set ups to obtain a neutral balance for your car and track.
All you then do is tweek the rear ARB and damper settings to fine tune the car for the day.

Our later version of the programme can accurately predict lap times; but for this we need power, torque and aerodynamic information.

We are incidentally offering £40 discounts on set ups done before the end of March.
The old Vat rates apply as we are paying the extra ourselves on all work till then.
