Title: Rear View Mirror
Post by: YellaBelly on 15, April, 2011, 09:23:56 PM
Hi all

Just after some recommendations for a rear view mirror. It'll be mounted on the scuttle so will probably have to be on a stalk for Mr IVA :)

Use an ordinary rear view mirror to start with just to gauge the height of stalk you will need, then have a look on car builder solutions etc

For the central rear view mirror I like something small otherwise it obscures too much of your forward vision.

For wing mirrors I use double bolt fixing to limit vibration and strong decent length stalks particularly for the passenger side with the hood up so you have some chance of seeing something through the mirror. I've wasted plenty of money swaping mirrors in my attempts to try and see something through them with the hood up.

This is what I use at the moment with fairly long and stong stalks and double bolt fixings. That's my two pence worth for the day ..............

The ones I have are very similar to those in the link, they're from a Yamaha R1. The only thing I'm worried about is if they give enough field of view for Mr IVA. Most folks seem to say you need convex, mine are flat.
