The annual invite from our friends at the WSCC has arrived to their Team Karting Event at Swindon Karting, Wroughton Airfield. We need to organise ourselves into teams of 4 or 5 drivers, the cost is £27 each for a team of 5 or £34 each for a team of 5. As the event is only a few weeks away we need those interested in driving to put their name down below ASAP. Last year we entered 2 teams "Suffolk & Close" and "Norfolk & Chance" picking up a trophy for 3rd place. Can we go one better this year? Full details are: -

COST £135 per team of 4, preferably 5, drivers so £27 to £34 each
Here's the 2012 Inter-Area Challenge ......... to follow last years highly successful day. I seem to remember that my Cotswold AO's Select team won yet again with Andrew Perry leading the way (without Ian Murray) but with some new imported specialists to just beat Tom Frankland's Swindon Skidmarks team followed very closely by Ken Robson's Norfolk and Chance BKCC1 team – as before the lead generated by Andrew Perry was rapidly lost by my crawling round just 10 laps!
TEAMS We hope that in addition to some Cotswold teams, Mark Purves and his Chiltern Super 7's , Hants and Wilts under Andy Abbey, Thames Valley lead by Tim Reid and Warwicks with Steven Mead will all repeat their strong challenges.
THE TRACK I have spoken to Karen Bartlett who sells it as having a 550m length track (the longest in the South-West!) and the same excellent 270cc SODI Karts models as last year that can reach 60mph on their short straight. Please look at their website and see what you think.
FORMAT As last year we have opted for the 2 hour Enduro format where we get the track exclusively to ourselves. We get some practice sessions followed by the Enduro competition with team drivers sharing the time. Maximum number of team/karts on the track is 10.
FOOD A sandwich buffet will be made available at £4.50 per head – I will book this for all drivers unless you specifically opt out!
TROPHY Naturally enough the winning team will be awarded an astounding trophy to cherish!
TERMS OF BUSINESS each team needs to send in their 50% DEPOSIT cheque to Karen Bartlett -- 50% of £135 say £67 with their booking --- please note that this is non-returnable (that should concentrate the minds!).
Once again it will be a fun day and scrape some of the rust off our driving skills. It should be a fun day!!! Do contact me with any refinements or comments.

Is no one interested in the karting?
We entered 2 teams last year and won a trophy!
I will be up for it. might be able to get afew mates to do it aswell. I can bring up the rear like last time, so I might need to be in a team that aint hoping for a trophy. :P :P :P
Personally I didnt like the venue or the karts, and for that reason I'm out, sorry.
Dont let that put anybody off though, it is a great event.

Smiled at your post, a job in sales at Ryanair awaits. :P
Hi Ken,
Normally I love a bit of karting but I can't afford to have another Saturday off the build!

This is the last call for this event before I decline on behalf of the BKCC!
