looking to get some tyres for track days best place to get them and what makes are best

If you want road use as well, the standard fare are Toyo R888 or Yokohama AO48's.

Both available in many compounds, most stick to medium I think.

Best place to get them is Brunel Tyres. Ask for Steve and tell him you are a BKCC Supporter with membership number. http://www.bruneltyresltd.co.uk/

For real cheap track tyres you can go for used slicks, only good if you can transport them to the track and if the track is really dry.

You can't go wrong with the toyo R888 for road & track.  :)

Yes, I'm a fan of R888 tyres too. 

They are not as cheap as they used to be but a set normally lasts me 2 years.  Please note though, I rarely use them on dry trackdays as I use slicks.  If you do use them on dry days they're great but it will reduce their life significantly.

Some people say that R888 are dodgy in the wet.  I have found the opposite but you do need to get some heat into them which can be tricky then you're worried about sliding off!
