Title: TIG Welding and engine hoist
Post by: stantman on 27, April, 2014, 05:25:22 PM
Well I have been off line for over a year due to work commitments (working away building Terminal 2 at Heathrow, ahhhhh!) but am finally in the process of putting the replacement engine in the Westy.

To this end and to try and avoid the problems that occurred after the Kit car club track day at Llandau in June 12, I have fashioned some baffles for my shortened sump prior to fitting it to the new engine. To complete these I need to get them tack welded in place. As these are aluminium to an alloy sump I believe they will need to be TIG welded. Does any one know somewhere in Bristol I can get this done?

Also very cheeky as I haven't been active for a quite a while does any one have an engine hoist I could borrow. Its not essential as I have an alternative solution if needed but would be easier.

Cheers
