So after all the hassle i have had with the car i have decided to upgrade the engine from the pinto 2.1 to a 2.0 zetec blacktop.
Bought a second hand engine off ebay which i am going to give a good going over to make it good before fitting it.
its going to take a bit of time but soon im going to remove and sell the pinto and the weber 40 carbs fitted to it.
I will keep everyone posted on here as soon as i make any large changes and hopefully with pictures finally now that i have a new camera.
Any hints and tip from people who have carried out a conversion such as this will be greatly welcomed.
Most likely wont be complete until the beginning of next year but fingers crossed it will all go ok! :D
Good luck with that mate. All I can say is I changed from a Duratec to a more powerful Duratec & the amount of changes I had to do was quite a lot more than I had first anticipated so be prepared for the cost to rise a bit more than you think it will & that you may have more to do than you think. :)
Colin. was it all worth it
Fast women or fast cars?
Okay - Colin chose fast cars....
How do you know he don't have both.....LOL
It was worth it. 8) & yes Rach beat me on both Zip wire runs so I think I got both. I'm glad she is not interested in track days as she might show me up. :P
Just got a set of R1 carbs for £50 with a money back guarantee if they are found to be unsuitable once they have been stripped and checked! Things are looking up in the world!!
I'm looking at a bill in excess of £2000 plus vat for my Pinto rebuild and upgrade, be interesting to know how much the Zetec conversion works out at. ::) ::)
I will let you all know as it goes on.
