Shame these events don't seem to attract many younger people to keep the genre alive. Not sure if they teach motor mechanics in school these days but they did in my school, our teacher actually took us to working garages as part of the lesson from time to time. This gave me a genuine interest in the history of cars.
I'm guessing these old sheds have little interest to most of the younger generation because they don't have Corsa or Saxo written on the back along with a pointless 10" wide exhaust pipe.

The young today are not taught any engineering skills at school, like we were. They have design and technology but lathes for example are not in the schools now.
There are still a lot of young people who are interested and vintage cars will be passed down through families etc, but they will be maintained by specialist companies as the skills are being forgotton to do some tasks.
There is also the need for young to be instantly gratified, two years seems a life time to wait for something, but as we age patience becomes a skill we develop.
