Ian Stent of CKC Mag has emailed today to inform us that the first CKC/Omex Llandow Track Day of 2012 will be on Sat 26th May 2012.  The price is £95 incl. lunch but to get the track day for £75 BKCC will need 10 members to book or you will need to be a CKC subscriber.  This is the weekend after the BKCC Corner Weight Clinic so you will not have to wait long until you take your car on track to test the difference made by any adjustments.

Please note that as I stated in an earlier post the BKCC and BPMC are looking at hiring Llandow for our exclusive use in July.  The price will not include lunch (there is a decent cafe on site) but will include a session with a professional ARDS qualified instructor as part of the package.  Spaces will be limited to 30, Open Pit Lane all day and the price should be around £75.  i will post up details of this on a seperate thread as soon as I have them.

If you want to go on the CKC/Omex track day in May we will need 10 to get the discounted price so please put your names down below.

Edited to add to calendar.

Hi Ken

I have put my name up to Ian for entry again. Plus another driver.

I guess there will not be so many sausage rolls for lunch time this meeting..... ;D

Damn it!  This weekend is my sister's 30th birthday and sadly a day at Llandow isn't what she's hoping for so I can't make this :(

madmarkymark

Supposed to be going to North Wales - but may be able to rejig for a South Wales excursion ...

They didn't do one the last two times I've been, so unless your car is really noisy??

steve c

Krazyken

No noise limit at Llandow unless it's rediculously noisy, as a rule they allow up to 105dB before getting twitchy.  List so far is: -

1. eaa53
2. Moleman
3. Dikkie
4. Steve C

At the moment it's £95 each, we need another 6 to get the day at £75 unless you are a CKC subscriber, if you are and have already put your name down then please let me know.

Krazyken

If you have put your name down for this event, you need to book now with Ian Stent of CKC Magazine as there are only a few places left, best to email ian@performancepublishing.co.uk  Unless you are a CKC subscriber the cost will be £95 per car as we have not got the 10 required to reduce the cost to £75.

If you wish to go for £75 with the option of a small donation towards professional tuition, please see the other thread to the BKCC/BPMC/Quantum Llandow Track day at the end of June.

Moleman

I do subsribe to CKC so that won't be a prob. do you know off hand if you can get someone to go around with you to show you the ropes so to speak? or is it best to wait for the one in june?

With the uptake on this one is low this year I would book as part of BKCC, that may help the numbers up to 10.

I'm sure someone with experience of the track would go round with you.

Krazyken

Colin

I would suggest you book as both CKC subscriber and BKCC, you are then covered both ways.

With regards to instruction, I may possibly go along as a spectator later in the day but best to sort out in advance someone who knows what to do rather than leave it to chance.  There will of course be a professional instructor at our own event in June.

Moleman

Thanks Ken.
I have booked it the way you said & will take someone along.
If anyone else on the list was still going to book it then do it now as there is only one space left.
If anyone else is going & want to go down in convoy then let me know, I will prob be taking the westy on a trailer with my van so if anyone needs me to take anything down there I will have plenty of space.

alastair

Ok, I've just emailed Ian, so hopefully there will be space for me. I need to try out my new anti roll bars which should be fitted in the next few week hopefully and llandow is as good a place as any to try them as I pretty well know how the mini handles there. ;D

Westiebusa

I've emailed Ian and asked for myself and another driver to be included :)

Where have you been hiding?  Unfortunately I very much doubt that there will be any places left.  I will be there with Moleman but I had a phone call from Ian months ago offering me the last car place.

The next best bet is to put your name down for our own BKCC LLandow Track Day at the end of June (see other thread), we have started a reserve list but I am confident that we will have extra places not filled by other clubs.

'The Gaffer'

Agreed with Ken. You might be lucky though.

Nice to see you around Ade.

Hi Guys

Sorry for my absence from this forum over the winter, just getting back to kit car ways now the sun has made an appearance.  I am already booked in to this event along with Rich, Baz and Andy from the Robin Hood club.  We will be staying at the camp site next to the track on the Friday and Sat night - just to make a weekend of it.  I look forward to this event, normally a good mix of kit cars and in my experience all well behaved too.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers

Mattsmev

'The Gaffer'

Nice to see you Matt. Im not on track this time but will see all there I hope.

I am not driving so have had no joining instructions, suggest you contact Ian Stent at CKC who will be able to confirm all the details.

Westiebusa

Hi All  :D
Anyone meting at Aust services like we did last year, if so what time??
Adrian

I will be there allthough not be going round the track just have a look around bit rude not to as it's 30 mins from my house. Ive just picked up my exocet kit and speaking to him he said that his exocet lightweight that will be racing in the 750mc kit car series will be down there so hoping to have a look around it.

See you tomorrow.

Well, what a day. Hot or what 8)

Good turn out of cars and quite a few familier faces. It was good to have a chat with a few people and to get a few pics of the day..

Matt in his Mev

Tony out on track

Tony after a session - was he faster this time?

Tony's de-brief after a few laps with Ken

De-brief 2

Ace's Megablade on track

Soaking up the sun

2 ASBO's out to play

Smile everyone, Ian Stent is about with his compact camera

Great marshalls as usual at Llandow, always a well run event

Ken and Adam from CKC, I wonder what they were talking about?

This guy squeezed a BMW V8 into his kit

And finally, congratulations to Moleman for doing his first trackday, by the end of the day and with some coaching from Ken he was putting in some quite respectable lap times. Of course no timing devices were used however.

Somehow I think he will be back for more :)

Krazyken

Moleman did Brilliantly! ;D 8)

I believed he managed a best lap time of 50.44 secs (approximately), that's what I counted in my head from the paddock.

To get that good when popping your track day cherry is mightily impressive!! :o :o :o

Moleman

It was a great day. I learnt alot from Ken. many thanks Ken.   ;D

And it will be the first of many. I will post some pics soon.

eaa53

What a stunning day.  Well done and thank you to Ian and Richard on a well sorted event. Thank you Guys. 8)

jeffw

I had an enjoyable, if short, day yesterday and I thought I would drop in and share the link of my one and only session on video.

Nice to see so many kits out enjoying themselves.  Hopefully I will be back in September with the Phoenix all working.

Does anyone know if there was a circuit photographer working or does anyone have any photos of my Phoenix?

'The Gaffer'

Hi Jeff and a warm welcome to our club. Nice of you to share your video.

Best person to contact re pics is Ian Stent at CKC magazine. It's possible he may let you have one or two. ian@performancepublishing.co.uk

I like your 'ahem' monitoring equipment. Some good times there.

jeffw

Thanks for the welcome.

The datalogging is done via GPS into a Race Technology DL-1 logger and a Dash-2 with all the ECU parameters from the Omex-600 into the DL-1.  The lap times are only available after the event (I haven't set the system up to show lap times in real time) so as not to 'egg' me on during a trackday.  The speed you see is from the GPS so is 'real' and doesn't have any errors in it.

If you are interested the car is a Sylva Phoenix from 1996 and has a live axle (Quaife ATB with a 3.54 ratio), aluminium BGH HD type 9 gearbox and a supercharged 2lt Zetec engine (Omex kit).

I had a quick look at Race Technology website, theres some great gear on there - at a price of course.

Please feel free to start a new thread in the introduce yourself section with a more in-depth description of your car with a few pics if possible, Im sure some members will find it very interesting.

Happy to do that of course but I live a long way away in Kent so I don't imagine I'll be doing many meets ;)  I am looking to compete in the Pentille Hill Climb though :)

Hey, you dont have to be from Bristol to be in the Bristol Kit Car Club :)

alastair

Glad you guys had a good day. I would have taken one of the spare places that became free a couple of days before the track day, but I didnt have enough tred on my tyres so had to give it a miss  :(
