Brings back a few memories...

In my early 30s I went in partnership with a Mr E.V.C.Hardy a well known Motorbike/sidecar race driver.    We were reliant specialists in Cooksey road, Small Heath Birmingham.  When I joined him he was going bust, so I took on all other makes as well to get him back on his feet, so to speak.

We built a special with a Triumph Spitfire lump and gave demonstrations at shows on how these fantastic motors can fly.
My trick was to get it up on two wheels and try to keep it there with straight run speed demos also.  But you have to know how to drive them otherwise you can easily do what this chap done. Worst of all is to let off the power into a bend as you all know.

On the road it was great fun sitting alongside at lights etc and blowing them away.

Happy days when we charged just £5 for an M.O.T.      One day we had a Rolls Royce come in......Yes Im not fibbing.....I failed it for a worn track rod end, but it was fun doing the road brake test with a pendelum scriber.....
