Duff Shock

Looks like I made a boo-boo buying GAZ shocks! The car hasn't even been started yet and today I noticed some oil around one of the rear shocks. Took it off and had a closer look, it seems there is corrosion on the piston rod and I think it has knacked the seals  >:(

The shocks have been on the car since about June last year and have only been worked through their range on the car to check clearances etc.

I'm not best pleased as they weren't cheap! I've emailed the company I bought them off and will see what happens.

I've also found out today that one of my alloys is much more out-of-true than I first thought so I'm going to have to try and source a new set :( Saw some on eBay v.close to me but the offset was 36 and I just haven't got that sort of clearance (I'm already using 25mm spacers at the rear).

This damn car is never going to be fnished!

Keep yer chin up mate :) These things are always sent to try us.

If it were me, that would cheese me off such that I'd just go out and buy a completed car and enjoy the summer and finish my build in the winter, but then you're not me are you JB ;) :-*

Most annoying.

I have Gaz as well, no problems here (yet).

Surely they must do something as I thought all goods had to have a fit for purpose and 12 if not 24 month min warranty. If my memory serves me correctly it is 24 months regardless of what "small print" a company puts on goods being sold new.

You are getting very close now  ;D

Phil, if I had the funds beleive me I would do just that!

Rich, I got an email back from Dampertech this morning telling me to send back the faulty item for inspection, if it's found to be faulty (which is obvious in my book) then it will be repaired/replaced as needed.

Let's see.
