EV's are coming along - this is a good video - the first few minutes are a bit slow but well worth the wait. 

This does remind me of Christmas though - you remember, the ultimate toy and no batteries - a bit of a tease.  This more a case of batteries included but I am not allowed the toy!

Now this is futuristic but available now - just 5000 bhp.  Built in Dubai (where else) - just pop it on you Christmas list - its never too late!

How about a car that will run on 4 grammes of fuel per year.  Yep its possible with Thorium.  And if you pick up a handful of sand on a beach in Cornwall you probably have that in your palm.  So what's the catch?

Well there is a small problem.  You will need to create nuclear fission and that needs a temperature as hot as the surface of the Sun, and you will need a perfect vacuum and you will need a magnet so powerful that it could undo a Bra clasp at fifty feet.  But apart from that it is looking viable soon.  Oh yes the 0-60 time is a problem.  Radiation leakage could add 60 years to your body age in just 2.9 seconds. 

But hey - cars were a problem until Henry Ford.
