Title: My new toy
Post by: 'The Gaffer' on 24, August, 2011, 01:08:18 AM
Ok folks, I have thought long and hard whether to stick with kit cars or try something new that is still a sports car but with the luxury of a roof and a few other options. This summer has been a wipe out for me with the weather dictating everything I did with the Riot :(

So what have I bought? And before I get flamed, you can blame Dave H for introducing me back into the BMW world ;) I have owned and loved a few BMW's over the years but never really experimented with BMW external tuning companies such as M Motorsport or Alpina.

So having experienced Dave H's M3 and trying out Ian's recently advertised Alpina Roadster S on our forum and really liking it (sadly he PX'd it against another car) I decided the hunt was on for another rare Alpina Roadster...

... and I have just bought Alpina build number 252 and am looking forward to collecting it this coming Saturday.

DONT WORRY, I have not abandoned the club, just simply done what a lot of people do in the kit car world, moved on. The club has taken to much effort to simply forget and my car being a specialist collectable still fits nicely into the fold.

0-60 4.9 seconds and top speed 169mph or 172mph with hard top fitted :o Should be fun :)

Look forward to catching up with you guys soon.

Hers a couple of pics of my new BMW Z4 Alpina Roadster S..

Super nice!  My best mate has a Z4 Coupe and I tried to talk him into one of those instead when he bought it.

I have a soft-spot for the Alpina brand - my old B10 is here:

Well you'll definitely be catching me in my meagre motor Phil :)

Nice motor :D If I'm honest, I've never really been a BMW man myself, but I do like the Z4 (not that I could afford to buy/run one).
