Title: Autotune Gemini
Post by: sanzomat on 25, January, 2016, 01:54:15 PM
Anyone know anything about these? One of the Team GTM guys has been asked to dispose of one for a recently widowed friend. (no, it wasn't the car that caused her hubby to depart). I've googled it and they look pretty nice in the images. Escort based with a 1.6 crossflow I think. I said I'd see if anyone on here was interested. He was going to try to find out a bit ore about the spec and price expectations and get some photos.

On of my mates Dave has one.  I will ask him about it and report back.

A friend of mine built one which Autotune used as and advert for years on their stand. Tube chassied full bodied using an MG midget screen. Running gear is Ford solid axle and Wishbone front. Engine was 1600cc escort but I have seen one with V6 Alfa and was driven around Castle Combe in a Rover V8 racer.
They are good cars, a bit more civilised than a Westfield with a usable lockable boot.

Price as always depends upon condition and as new were not expensive. Autotune still can supply them or at least parts. They were not too easy to build well opening doors are a pig to line up for example. Price wise anything from a few hundred to £1.5-2k I would suggest.
