Couldn't see a thread for 2016's Stoneleigh yet so thought I'd start one! Bank holidays in May have a tendency for wives to book weekends away so get it in the diary quick!!
Who is up for it?
Already in my diary :)
I will put up something in the new year mate. :)
If you look it's already booked on the calendar :)

The Go Inspire car is planned to be there on its wheels
:-[ Probably not on the BKCC stand though.... :-X
Yes we will have the GO! Inspire cars there and we are expecting some celebrity attendance too.
For those that have not been this is a big affair and there is a big turnout but one that is always controlled by the weather. But I will give the hardy types their due - many roofless cars still brave the elements even in the worst weather. And for the really hardy types, you can camp there and CKC lay on overnight entertainment.
Sorry I will clarity it is not lay-on entertainment it is a band. ;D
Ian
Will be there as usual. No hope of the Belva being finished though, I am putting that out there now!
Never been before, will be driving there in comfort though!!!

Its a very good show with loads of kits to look at. First thing Sunday morning, up the Foss Way from Chippenham, lovely drive but never done it in the kit.
If the weather is good........ ::)
It is worth going in the Kit Cars guys. :)

If nothing else 'cos you get in for free!
Driving up in a convoy is pretty cool too and you really feel a part of it rather than just a spectator.

You'll wish you had once you get there. Plus you'll have to pay to get in without one ;)

I notice that all you guys who recommend going up in kits have windscreens, wipers, heaters, wet weather gear or at least some/several of those!!!!
You wont need any of those, gonna be scorchio 8). Besides can't understand why it would be a problem, what are you man or mouse. he he he ;D ;D ;D
I am planning on going up. No screen or heater.
(But only if it's not raining 8)

Squeak
FHO I have a full set of waterproofs you can borrow.... The best wet weather gear you can get .... ;Dn
I went to Stoneliegh for many years in the tin top rather than my old ginettas. Once I bought the cyclone I took it for it's maiden voyage to Stoneleigh in convoy with the BKCC and it opened up a complete new experience of ownership and I enjoyed the day out much more.
Not only that, the show is the cars outside for the most part and I therefore feel, in a fading kit car market, we have a responsibility and duty to get as many their as possible. Make the effort, it will be fun, whatever the weather. The bow wave engulfing the car last year as we hit the dip in torrential rain is just as memorable for me as the sunny blat home the year before.
It is a journey to Shakespeare country
To be Stoneleigh or not Stoneleigh - that is the question
Knowest it maketh the man, I hear not a mouse-squeak
Moaneth not and gain a tan, loose this wimpish vexation
Is thou strong or ist thou weak? Tis a noble thing I choose now,
Twixt kit, creature comfort, storm and mighty precipitation
Egads Ian, thou hath losteth the ploteth mateth boy, forsooth!! Bill would turn in his grave
Just to confirm the BKCC stand has been officially booked. It is stand 76A - Same as last year.
For those who wish to camp you can book online here http://www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/html/tickets_kit_cars.asp

Id like to go up but am pretty sure I will be in the tin top unless fidodido's 2b is registered and I can persuade him to go

Bri, What day are you going and what route?
I am defiantly going up but need to decide kit or tintop. If the weather is bad I will use the tintop and possibly stay over. if the weather is good I might use the kit one day and tintop the next. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

We're planning on going up on the Saturday and camping (cos we're hardcore ;)) over the 2 night's. We'll be going up the A46, A433 then A429 route as normal. Probably leaving at around 10ish. ;D

Camping?????? that's an option but it would have to be really good weather and the tent would have to have a shower, toilet and of course a bar :P
I'm planning on the Sunday, got my recovery insurance in place !!

I'm more concerned with what to do with the car overnight? What if it rains (no weather gear on mine) and will they be safe from d*ck heads who might decide to nick parts (or whatever!) ?
I have a big tent that has a couple of bedrooms and enough room to park a kit in, welcome to borrow it.
Or a 'tarp' with eyelets, really cheap from Ranjani's.
Steve. In my opinion it will be fine at Stoneleigh. Most of the people there are enthusiastic about their & other kit cars so they just won't stand around watch some do anything to other cars mate.
Yep I'm going, probably Sunday.
Never had a problem with damage but a halford car cover would stop anyone going near it.
All good points cheers peeps :)
Could I put my name down for the Sunday plz.
As it stands I may well be going up with a mate in his newly acquired Caterham SV carbon fibre jobby! Get lush!

Wuss! Get in the ASBO and give him something to chase up there. :P

I suspect it would be me doing the chasing Bri, he's a bloody good driver old Stevie boy. I can't hold a candle to him tbh
I live in Swindon. Is anybody going to stoneleigh this year from Swindon, as maybe go up in a group
Hi TC84, I'll be going in the tin top but not sure which day yet.
Ian
Are there many people going to stoneleigh this year from this club. Thanks
I'm going up with Dixie, Cob69 and 5 others (Cobra club I think) on the Sunday.
Don't know for sure how many are going.....Ian should know roughly. ::)
Unfortunately this will be the first I will miss for 7 years! Silver Wedding Anniversary, Melissa is taking me away so cannot complain. When I say taking me away, I actually mean she has booked a nice break for us and I am paying! Thought that counts....... Have a great time guys.
That's a shame Steve. See you next year then. ;D

Looks as though most are going sunday, so are we.
I know Bri started this list.....
From what I can see, there is:

Moleman
Cc cyclone
Tigercub84
Sanzomat
Vindicator
Bulldog Bri
Camber Dave
Iancider
Gary RH7 weather pending

If your not going sunday make a note on the list and repost, probably good if anyone has numbers or others to add then repost.
I dont have a clue about timing as i've never been before, i would imagine its gonna be an early start.
I'm only 50/50 on making this atm I'm afraid :(

I'm out now - bit short of big end bearings at the moment following yesterday's trackday :(
Sorry for not making it clear, I shall be going with Dixie and Tony (cob69) in his Merc.....see you all up there!
Sorry I will not be able to join you with my car ( Newbie ). Was at Snetterton on Wednesday and after some issues with charging it seems my battery is knackered leading to an early retirement! I am hoping to source a new battery at Stoneleigh so I will drop by and hope to meet some of you during the day ( most probably Sunday ). In the meantime ( if I can make it work ) here is a picture of my rather different Cyclone.
Best wishes

See you there John. I like the look.

Hi all, I am coming to this, but I don't actually own a kit car and tend to just lurk the forums ;) hence not being on the list. I just wanted to point out though, if any of you are thinking about getting accommodation Sunday night before driving back, I've just found a place in Statford-Upon-Avon called the Charlecote Pheasant.
Usually £115+ a night but is coming out as £59 (including buffet breakfast) for Sunday night at the moment (last minute deal I guess), breaks up the journey home and keeps the missus happy as she can wonder around shakespeareville Monday.
Apparently there's only a few rooms left, so if you've left it all to the last minute like me you need to be speedy :)
Greeting from Poland
I'm going there from Poland tomorrow morning.
I have a flight from Poland to London Luton Airport and then a coach to Coventry. But I don't know if I will catch any bus from Coventry to the Kitcar Show tommorow at 11 am.
Is somebody who is going there from Coventry or London Luton and have two seats for two guests from Poland? ;-)
Looks like everyone is dropping like flies, we have also got problems with things not working dicky indicators and no horn now.
So we are reverting to the TT to get there.
B
I still intend to go in Ratbag, may have to use the tranny instead though. ::)

Ok mate. Same here, not set in stone. Have been thinking half the night and am on the verge of taking the ASBO up. Would love to turn up in it. Just not had many miles it her to get my confidence up. If I breakdown (no reason why I should though really) I'm stuffed!! No idea how I would get her home as no breakdown cover atm.
Gonna wait to hear from Mike Bishop to see if his Tiger starts and then decide what to do. A cold and possibly damp kit car trip but a great feeling when I get arrive, or a nice snug and very comfy X5 journey - hmmmmm :-\
If we are on the road anytime near your journey time I will call or text you Dave ok.
Ok, see you on the way. Don't worry 'afgan rules' apply - no-one gets left on the road.

Yes, flew home without problem. Had to refuel near Tetbury but got home and dinner cooked just in time for F1. Saw 'one finger' do a colin into the wall! Priceless, especially the cussing that followed -bleep bleep. ;D
