I thought it might be time to post something on Christmas Presents and I saw this as an idea for somebody who has everything.

Any more clever ideas and novelties out there?

'The Gaffer'

Not clever or novel, just plain greedy..

I like your style Phil!! That is an awsome looking car and they do it in a roadster version too!!!  8) 8) 8)

Put me down for two please, just make sure one is yellow!!!

Yes, but you can get a mobile barbecue much cheaper!

'The Gaffer'

Nasty, but why let fire do the trick when you can just crash it...

So, a bit off topic. How about some more Chistmas present ideas?

benchmark51

How about a personal number plate  ;D ;D

Iancider

I do like that one! ;D

I saw PEN 15 on a Merc years ago.

I'm not sure if that is real or fake I checked the number via the valuation button on Parkers Guide and it could not find that reg number. Then again that could be precisely because it is a cop car?

Iancider

You could be right about fake - if not he needs to nick himself cos he only has one working headlight!

Maybe you don't like having to fit batteries or to set your alarm clock?

Try this for £13.75.  Accurate to one second per century and it sets itself because it is clever and it even charges itself up if you open the curtains occasionally!

A bargain basement GoPro copy £29.99

Just be warned Crash Test Dummy bought a similar one and it does not handle light changes well and the colours are a bit dense but for that price what can you expect.

Anybody prepared to take a punt and see if it is any good?

There is a better one on the next page!

Branded HD full action camera HD 1080p £46.50

This one has a good following and some good reviews – much cheaper than a GoPro

I wonder if it handles wind noise better than a GoPro? Mine is useless at high speeds.

I think they all are, the only solution is to plug in external mic into the camera and put it in the footwell or somewhere with little wind. Is there anywhere on the ASBO with little wind? ;D ;)

Good point Phil!! I'm not sure tbh. I'll have to experiment though I'm not even sure my very old original Hero 1 can take an external mic? I have for now put some foam in the back of it (saw the idea on youtube) which has helped a fair bit.

Iancider

Its the wind that is the problem not the camera.  No remote is possible in mine so I pop a digital recorder in my top pocket inside my jacket out of the wind.  So long as you can sync sound and vision by a clap in front of the camera and the recorder you would never know they were recorded separately.

Also you get good engine sound by strapping the camera onto the nose-cone.  There is enough vibration induced to give you authentic sound.

Now back to the Christmas gift thread you naughty boy.
