Hi all,

I want to go out at some point and take some nice photos of my car,  Has anyone any ideas of anywhere I can go where I won't get hassled by chavs, security or locals.

I had thought that it'd look pretty cool in an urban sceen at night lit by street lights with some graphiti in the background.  But I can't think of anywhere like this that I'd like to take my car along with over £500 worth of camera equipment at night time...

Any ideas appreciated.

P.S.  Around the Bristol / Weston areas please.

Thanks
Mark.

Just as a thought, If anyone else wants to come along and I'll do some photo's of your car too if you like.

I've seen some pretty good car pics done in flourescent lit multi storey carparks. Evenings are a bit light right now though.

Old run down trading estates with old brick and stone delapidated buildings covered in colourful graffitti seem to set shiney cars off too.

I wouldent mind helping with a shoot  :)

One of the guys at work did mention that he did a shoot in the new cabbots circus car park and that they have a couple of levels with green neon lighting.  I'm yet to check it out though.

I like the idea of a trading estate though. There's a bit of waste ground with some derilicte buildings at work.  I wonder if they'll let me use that...

I'm gonna go out for a little drive tonight so I might just try to scout some areas out and take the camera to do some practice shots.

One place that comes to mind is down at the locks leading into the floating harbour, down in the Cumberland Basin. Maybe if you had a word with the lock keeper you could get some shots with the bridge behind With you parked right on the point of the locks or if your lucky a tall ship in the background in the first part of the harbour..

Multi-story car parks are an obvious one.

The units in Weston where Specialist Sports Cars of Somerset are (behind Merc dealer in Weston).

Old Morlands site in Glastonbury, mixture of knocked down buildings / rubble with new roads to nowhere in it for future access.

Seen some good shots of cars down the side of "stadiums" before, can't think of an easy access one locally though.

Any garden centre car parks with big greenhouses behind them you know of ?

how about car auction carpark Bridgwater.

how near to Lloyds building in Bristol can you get these days.

Will keep an eye out for some contrasting places.

Some good ideas.

I went out for a quick drive earlier and stopped on the way home to do a couple of sunset shots.  Thought you might like to see them.

Sweet,

I really like the first one, sort of expect Wyatt Earp to jump out just before the infamous shoot-out at the OK Corral  8)
Great sky and almost desert like landscape, only slight flaw to my vision is the tarmac lol.

The car looks a little lost in the second shot.

The 'another' shot looks very menacing, almost like it was taken in the eye of a hurricane storm.

Great shots.

First one's my fav too,  I think its how the light bounces off the roll cage.

Richard

Parkway station carpark when a bit empty may allow a good couple of pics with the building behind.

Very moody pics.

A still puddle in front giving a reflection of a bit of car and sky colour might work well. Don't go dancing for rain though, please.

Hey thats pretty damn good, exactly like I thought it would look.

Any chance of one more?

Richard

Very good  :)

Even a little touch on the plate.

Mark G

Its ok for a quick go.  When I take my time I'm pretty nifty with photoshop but that was just a quick edit to see if it might work.
