horn push

anyone  help on the subject of wiring the horn push on my mountney steering wheel ,this may seem like a silly question but on the instructions it shows live and earth comeing throught the hole in the back of the boss to the horn push,but wiring it this way the wires will wrap around the top of the column when turnd left or wright ,i have now earthed  the horn push to one of the screws that hold the wheel to the boss so i am now left with just the live comeing throught the boss hole ,probably a simple solution to this but i be buggered if i can see it ,sod it time for a beer. any solutions you guys and girls.
