Weight distribution - what is ideal ?

Been pondering this question as I play with parts and options.

50 / 50 is seen as unpredictable between under and oversteer, but is there an ideal ?

If you believe those red / yellow cars from Italy then the new model is perfect at 58% rear but...

I have such a large range of parts to play with that it appears quite a bit can be done.

Anyone got any opinions ?  Perhaps this will vary between the layouts, opinions please  :D
