I've got a weber 34 ICH on a 1100 crossflow engine in my Locost. From what I can tell/see I've got a 175 jet in there, is this too big? The carb was given to me as the original Motorcraft one was nackered ???. I've been looking on the Locost builders site but not found any info there :)
The problem is the car will run and idle fine even accelerate if done slowly but go a bit to quick and it just dies :( think it's over fueling.

Thoughts please ;D

This is a very widely used carb and is what I have on my 1300 xflow.
The only real problem I had was fuel starvation, which turned out to be the in-line
filter near the tank and bits of s*** in the fuel bowl.
below link should help

I agree with Dave - it sounds more like fuel starvation than wrong jetting.  It could also be a gross air-leak on the manifold side - for instance the vacuum distributor advance tube left off, leaving an open vent or air-leaks around the inlet manifold/gasket - the bigger the throttle opening, the bigger the vacuum and the more air leaks-in to weaken the mixture.  Also check the gasket under the carb.

Good luck
