Yeay. My windscreen arrived this week, another Ebay bargin...  ;D

Boo. My windscreen don't fit.  :-[

The lower edge of the screen is flat and my scuttle is curved, plus it's wider than my car by about 6cm. :o

Is it possible to get the screen trimed down and also for the suround to have the middle cut out by relivant amount and rewelded (Mr Aliwiz)?  :-\

Sorry cant help you there bud.

You might want to call a mobile windscreen company to see if they can help, but I would imagine glass cutting is a bit specialised?

Do you have to have a windscreen for the test?

Bulldog Bri

No. you don't need one, I'll be fitting a short areo screen to start with.  ;)

I think no screen for test is going to be easier given all the items you'd have to cover if not designed in from start.

Never heard of car windscreen glass being cut before but guess it is possible with specialist tools, but new to me.

I've got a similar issue with mine Brian. I've got MK (I think) uprights and the screen is  flat at the bottom although I was going to fabricate something to cope with that.

But the screen is too wide, the same as yours. I'll be doing the same as you as we talked about last week.....retro-fit the screen ;)

Let me know if you get any info on screen adjustment.

Sorry - I don't think you can cut modern windscreens - they are laminated. i.e. they are made from a thin sheet of plastic sandwhiched between two sheets of glass.

If you score the glass, like a tile, you will only break through the top layer.

Hi,
I`m new here joined yesterday, I might be able to help you with your windscreen.
My tiger`s windscreen was too low for my height- it was right on my eye level.
I got my own Double Glazing company so I can get Laminated glass cut to any size or shape, so I added 45mm to my windscreen height and then put it back into it`s frame.
So if you give me a template of what you want I can get it sorted for you, the cost will be alot cheaper than the kit car parts dept, and I won`t charge any thing for it, just the trade cost price.
This is available for anyone on this club- hope this helps...............Jamie.

Bulldog Bri

Thanks Jamie I'll get a template sorted out soon.

Hope you get your car sorted soon and we'll see you at the meetings
