Hi, can anybody help me to identify this engine? Silver top or black top (think it might just be painted red).

Also I need a dip stick for it as the one in it has broken by the handle, where can I get one from?

And last question, what grade oil should it be run on? I was told by the previous owner that he used Mobil one fully synthetic, but didn't tell me which grade?
All help would be greatly appreciated.

You've got a Silver Top (metal cam cover) with hydraulic lifters, so it should have 5W 30 semi or fully synthetic. Some people run them on old 20/50 especially on track days, but you can get tappets sticking when it's cold.

I've got an old dipstick here if you want it, it's been glued but it seems ok at the moment. PM me if you're interested 8)
