Has any one got a spring compressor I could borrow or any ideas where I can get one to fit front springs for a Robin 2D
All the normal ones I have looked at are too big to fit in between the springs
Cheers

What type of front suspension do you have?

I think you will struggle to find a spring compressor to fit... what you will probably need to do is purchase some simple single prong compressors and grind them down and cut the end off so they fit between the springs and you may need to cut something off of the screw thread if space is restrictive. You can get them on ebay.

Compressing springs is frightening stuff.....

Wondering what you are trying to do.

One option would be to jack car up, use C spanners and undo and so gradually take the pressure off the spring and then the options to replace etc. become available. You'll of course need to take your measurements for existing setup before and then can recreate after.

Perhaps a pic of your set-up and what you are trying to do may help us help you more.

If you are really in need of compressing then with clamps and an iron bar cross you can recreate the effect of spring compressors but really don't think it will be needed.
