speedo not working (sierra)

hi, the first fault on my recent purchase is the speedo isnt working, but the trip and mile counter are still working, so im thinking that the cable must still be intact and the fault must be the speedo it self (its from a sierra) i haven't started pulling it apart yet

any idea's ? , cheers
