Title: Queen's Square Sunday morning meet 14th Feb
Post by: Moleman on 27, January, 2016, 08:36:05 PM
This is a really good chance to meet up with car enthusiasts from all over Bristol. it is held on the Sunday morning from about 9am at Queen Square, Bristol, City of Bristol BS1 4QS

I know we are always immaculately behaved but I am going to ask three things.  We wish to make a positive impact on the Square and for Bristol as a whole.
(a) If you see some litter could you pick it up and put it in the bins (not ours but we will help)
(b) If somebody does make noise, very politely explain the situation to them so that the show is not banned as a result - that also applies to burning rubber and the like
(c) Invite as many members of the public as possible to enjoy this benefit for Bristol

This is still a great venue with a good atmosphere so who is up for it weather permitting of course?
This is also Valentines so don't forget to pick up some flowers from the garage on your way home.  8)

So who is up for it? :)

Valentines day might make this one a bit iffy but then again its been a while since I've been (well, since the car has been in one piece!). Will need a good clean too. Might have to see on the day.

It's getting to the point where the back lane is looking more like a canal but if it's a dry day then I should be there.  :)

I'm planning to go. I've brought the Spyder back from MiL's this afternoon and even went out for a little drive in the rain (hood up though). I've given her a quick sponge down too so she looks presentable. Just hope nothing falls off, leaks or comes undone as it will be the longest trip since the winter upgrades. I'm thinking it won't need an 8.00 arrival as I'm guessing the time of year and the day will stop it being overrun so I'll aim to arrive at about 8.30-8.45.

It's a bit of a little canal at the moment but it does dry up quickly mate. Topped with a load of stuff that needs going to the tip it's a bit of a nightmare just to get it out. It will be all cleared by Friday though mate, thanks foe asking.  :)

Well I didn't make this one - had a lie in! Good news test drove the car - first drive since Nov plus some modifications and nothing fell off! Except I noticed the steering wheel wasn't on square, about 20 degrees off which was weird! Fixed that when I got home.

Were any more of our guys there apart from you Dave?

A pretty good turn out from BKCC and generally. I'm embarrassed that I still don't know everyone's names though! Mike B, Santa, Benchmark, Brandy and son plus the guy with the lovely silver/grey Cobra (apologies for dreadful name retention) and at least one other!

The square was full without being packed out if that makes sense. Generally well behaved but one bright orange Lambo clearly didn't think he stood out enough already so felt the need to demonstrate the noise of his engine and as I left was testing his 0-60 (maybe even 0-100) times along Prince St. In the town with the biggest concentration of CCTV in the UK he may live to regret that!

Weather was chilly but was already bright by 9am.

Here's an idea for a site enhancement then - how about the members list has a field for a mugshot of the individual and a pic of their car(s) and what their actual name is. Then, when I can't remember who it was I was talking to, when I get home I can have a look in the member list, find a pic that matches (either the person or the car - more likely to remember the car!) and then know the name (eventually!)

Did he have a for sale sign in the car Dave? There is one for sale in Yate and from time to time he gives it a blat around the town, trying to attract buyers maybe?!!!  :D  £229,000 I believe if any of you guys have very deep pockets?

I knew there was an unofficial FB site but didnt realise it had so many pics on it! I have seen one FB ADC page before but it must have been a different one as this one has waaaaay more pics.

The official ADC one does go right back to the very 1st meet though Dave. There are 64 pages of pics. Still not as many as the FB one by the look of it! There is even a nice one of the ASBO (at last!!) The ADC obviously didn't realise how rare it is - ha ha ha!!  Or maybe it was not yellow enough for them?? ;D ;D ;D

I'm trying hard to resist my annoying OCD tendencies and not count the pics on both sites to compare!!! Great find that Dave  :) :)

In case anyone has not got the official ADC site pictures link, here it is....
