Title: run out this weekend
Post by: dikkie on 25, January, 2011, 03:10:32 PM
I've just got my car back together after a service and cam belt change.  Anyone fancy a little blast this weekend (weather permitting of course...)?

I was thinking Sunday and Chew Valley...

Might be tempted if I can get approval from SWMBO.  We're picking up a new kitten and he's not supposed to be left on his own incase the little s*d starts climbing the curtains and things.  She can do the babysitting and I can do the fun having I guess!

I'll go as long as its not icy again ;D.......not sure if Dixies Cobra will be ready by then.

We bleed his clutch last weekend and it was just a matter of connecting the new servo. (he said it was very heavy evidently!)

Stupot might be interested to test his car. ::)

Shall we meet at the McDonalds at Brislington, meet 12.45 for a 1pm departure?

Obviously living in Frome i'll meet you on route.   Maybe us Mendip boys can meet up somewhere more local and have a "mass gathering" at the lake in the afternoon. ;) ;D

Depending how it suits everyone else, I wouldn't mind going a touch earlier (although will make whatever time as best I can).

how about 10am at mcdonalds brislington for the meetup - which is only just up the road from the ring road  - prob suit most people as this is about the time and place we normally start off from

Thanks Hairy,   10:00 am  Thats a better time for the Bris departure. I'm in now.
Suggestion - would anyone have objections to extending our run to go via Keynsham & Markesbury to meet & pick up Paintman, Dixie & Stupott901 at The Mendip Inn (A37)near Oakhill (10:30 'ish ) then we could have a bit of a run accross the top of the mendips before dropping down to Chew Lakes ?

You read my mind Casino!!.....I was planning to incorporate Burrington or Cheddar in my trip out to meet you lot anyway. ;D

Stupott can meet me at my house if its easier (he knows where it is I think).

Hey Dikkie,
will be pleased to meet you on Sunday.

Instead of going into Keynsham, why don't you stay on the Keynsham bypass, straight on at roundabout at the Bristol end. Carry on to next set of lights at crossroads and turn right. That is where the Mcdonalds meet up is.

Smiilarly,  Grin-a-lot.  You'll be passing Mcdanalds to get to Keynsham !
It's left at the lights on the A4, diagonally oposite the Park and Ride.

Funnily enough I was just this second looking for it on a map.  I know where it is on the A4 so will hang a left and the golden arches will no doubt be a beacon of tasty goodness so I'll see you there at 10am.

How many cars are we talking about now?

Stupotts coming but i'm pretty sure Dixie won't have his car taxed but I'll ask him if he wants to come with me but after our last excursion out I fear he might decline or turn up with a spare pair of brown trousers! :-[ ;D

Tony.

You're right I wont have car taxed.  Went to change plate today and tax car, but the post office in Coleford was shut.  The women who work in post office didnt turn up for work.  Looked on VOSA web site it seems I cant do it at a local post office anyway, so yet another trip into Bristol on Monday.  DAX will be taxed by next weekend.

Will be happy to be passenger again, but not if it's icy!!!

Ta Mark

Mark. Not sure how online taxing works if you want to change plates too but if you do tax online and print the confirmation you shouldn't have any problems with the law.
