Bulldog Bri

Well the scoop turned up today and is now semi-fitted (so your still welcome to try it on Phil)

Looking good Bri, just out of interest have you tried it the other way around?

Bulldog Bri

No! any reason for trying it that way round?

PhilW

If it was on mine i would be looking at aerodynamics, less drag the other way around, yours isn't as slippery(no offence) so i was just wondering what it would look like.

Bulldog Bri

I might try it, though I like the idea it's forcing air into the carb!!!

Yeah there is that, will it not force water in there aswell though, if you are unlucky.

'The Gaffer'

Yeah you would lose a little ram-air induction ;D , but water would be pushed in on the move :-\ You would really need an oiled filter to repell the water. Maybe the engine bay and electrics may get wet too dependent on whats around the vent.

Also the otherway way round you would have a nice warm air face heater vent for the winter :).

I'm a little confused as to how to fit a scoop for the same reasons.

Bulldog Bri

This car is only ever going to be used on dry days, the Bulldog on days where it may rain and the tin top on wet days  ;D So not that worried about water getting in

This one is fitted with 6 bolts down though the bonnet and a rubber edge seal.

Dont worry about the water. My foam filter sticks out of the side of my car and it pissed it down on my trip to france. Water injection is considered a good thing in some circles. However my engine is now in bits again so what do i know?!

Bri, I'm trying to free up some time to give you a hand as i said i would but I've got my hands full with a Westy in bits and a '68 MGB with a V8 thats just arrived into the fold. Typically, its also in need of a little TLC. My head is in the shed mate!

Bulldog Bri

As and when Dave. most of the work has been done now though but welcome anytime to drop in for chat and opinion putting  ;D If you ever need a break from your other cars.

Just had big surprise  :o

The Escort I bought for my donor car was only a "1100cc" not the 1300cc I thought it was  :-\ Just as well I didn't want a big engine for the car... ;)

Richard

ooops - think I had one of those engines in a Fiesta quite a few years ago

Did somebody change the engine before you got it?

No, I think as the car had been de-badged someone just assumed that it was a 1300, it's the same block just a longer stroke.

I'm not to worried though, should be cheaper to run, insure & tax  ;D  (I do have a 1300 spare in the garage anyway  ;) )

Finally got a little work on the Locost done this weekend. I've made a cover for the boot area.

I have been pondering on how to do this or just leave it as it was. Here is the result

Great job Bri! Is there no end to this man's talent? :D
