Complete Kit Car are running their CKC / Omex track days at Llandow again in 2011 on 14th May and 10th September.  This is the best value track day in the UK, last year the prices were £95 car & driver incl. lunch, £20 additional drivers incl. lunch and £5 for lunch for passengers, spectators etc.

There will be a Discount (last year £20) Meaning £75 to CKC Subscribers and to the BKCC if we can get 5 cars or more. At the September day last year we had 11 so an excellent turn out.

Ken

Did they loose you in the software update?  I tried a PM but it could not find you as a member.

Gaffer my have to fill in the blanks.....

Ken

As the software upgrade has removed the thread for the OMEX Llandow day can you refresh either direct to me or on a new thread the arrangements for the day specifically the time the briefing will start.

If I get now reply from you I will email Ian for his understanding of the days timings.

Why did I worry.

Glad everything is sorted :)

Ken, sadly we did indeed lose the thread on this trackday during the software upgrade. Who do know who is going from our club?

RMW50

I am booked and will be camping just across from the track on both friday and saturday nights, let me know if anyone else is thinking of camping.

I'm booked too so is my brother Peetee

Yep, I am! Got my letter too today, looking forward to it next Saturday, and seeing you all there

Sorry for the late reply guys, I have very limited access at the moment due the the useless idiotic pillocks BT use at their Indian Call Centres.  My download speed is down to 0.1MB and I have been waiting for a new Home Hub for 2 weeks.  I have told them that if it does not arrive by Tuesday I will be buying one locally and sending them the bill.

Rant over, back to the track day we have 10 from the club including myself and Dave Bence, full list from Ian Stent below: -

Ken Robson
Russell Hocken
Richard Wilson
Dave Bence
Peter Tillin
Adrian Tillin
Matt Wingrave
Andy Rowles
John Cooper
Steve C

Very surprised no one has jumped at the chance to drive a gorgeous young Polish lady round the track as on the last thread before it got deleted.

mattsmev

Sorry to be absent from the forum for so long - summer holidays and all that.

Matt Wingrave, Andy Rowles, Rich Hanks and Barry Lyles will be attending the track day and camping over on the Friday night, possibly the Sat night as well.

obviously, being from the Robin Hood club none of us actually drive 'Hoods, so we will bring a Megablade Westfield, a Megabusa Westfield, a MEV Rocket and a Dutton.

Cheers

Mattsmev

Ken

In your limited time on the internet you missed the flood of volunteer's, the rush is possibly what caused the forum software to break. :-\

I for one offered the passenger seat of the Elise to assist your difficulty of entertaining the passengers.. 8)

I will have a second driver so the car will be on track a lot of the time. :D

Thanks John

I knew there had to be at least one red bloodied male in the club.  ;D

peetee

Ken, myself and Marlboro car also said yes to passenger rides, particularly the fit women!

Krazyken

I will let the fit ladies know that you are willing to accomodate them.  How about the middle aged lardy blokes?  :-*

Oi... That might be me :o :P

Left it too late to book this one as didnt know if I'd have a car by the day.

RMW50

Hello Guys,

I am unfortunately having to pull out of this Saturdays track day.

I took the car to a specialist (all he does is set up kits / cars for race / track) today to look at the set up, camber etc, which it turned out were all out and needed doing.

Whilst he had my car in he noticed two potential problems, one with the way that the steering rack has been installed and the other with the way the pedals have been installed. He has told me that these two points shouldn't have got past the IVA or an MOT and are not safe particularly on a track day, and on his advise I have had to cancel saturday.

Needless to say I am absolutely gutted, this was going to be my first track day and had everything else sorted, but it would not be safe for either me others on the day if I was to take the car without resolving these items.

If there is a plus side to these two points and the fact that it does not look like the cars geometry etc has been set up correctly, he says that the rest of the car is well built....

I have sent an e mail to Ian the organiser, but if anyone knows of someone who is interested in a place this saturday please let me know.

Yours,

Sulking in the Midlands.

Hello Guys,

That's a real shame mate :(

BigRuss

Looks like we'll be camping on the friday night now as well.

I told my wife what time we have to get up on Saturday and she just said "no way."

An extremely fine day out, well done Ian and Richard, (and Ken) I would like to do that again some time, nice location most of the day fine and sunny and the food was plentiful and lasted all afternoon.

Shame the rain drove all the less well protected car off the track at one stage, only the die hard's get wet and have the track to themselves, I keep saying it if you go faster the rain flies over the top, rock on tommy ;D.

I only spun it once! 8)

Omex

Hi Guys and Girls, a huge thank you to everyone who attnded our trackday at Llandow yesterday, hope you all enjoyed it. Both Ian (CKC) and I thought everyone helped make it a great day and as usual we were delighted with the support from BKCC. We were also very pleased with the numbers of newcomers, many of whom were doing their first ever time on track and of course the regulars are as welcome as always.

The regulars amongst you will I am sure have been quite impressed that I actually turned up in a kitcar to our own CKC trackday and my little yellow Striker behaved itself all day, mostly thanks to the guys from Raw who put it back together for me a couple of weeks ago (well you didn't think I would actually get around to doing it myself did you?). It did however donate its driveshaft bolts at the end of the day so dave McEvoy could drive home and then we found Leighton from Road Track Race at the side of the road with a broken gear linkage so it donated its hose pipes to that. Looks like I'll be taking it back to raw next week.....

I think we slightly overdid the catering this time, I've just had 200 mini sauages for breakfast and have 48 packets of crisps to look forward to for lunch.......

So thanks again and look forward to any photos or videos anyone has.

As always a big thank you for organising another brilliant day.  The cloud burst mid afternoon made the last session very interesting & enjoyable with varying grip levels as the track started to dry.  With regards to the over catering we have a member by the name of Hairy Santa who will have no problems in eating all the left overs as an afternoon snack.

Sadly this was the last time Adrians Spire (Marloborocar) will be with us in the UK so I took the opportunity to have a passenger ride and it reminded me of a Radical, it really was that good.

At the end of the day we were all out on track as it was drying and the normal advantage Dave Bence has on slicks over me was diminished as we spent the last half hour trying to outdo each other on lap times both sliding around as the advantage ebbed and flowed.  We both left with a huge smiles reminiscing on what great fun it was playing with a bit of outbraking and opposite lock.

Here's to next year.

More thanks from me to all at Omex, CKC and Llandow circuit for another very enjoyable day.

As Ken wrote, the afternoon rain certainly livened things up! I was too lazy to change wheels, so I waited for the track to dry a bit, then went out for a long final session until the chequered flag. Great fun sliding around on slicks on a damp track ;D

No videos or track photos sorry, just a few from the paddock:

Myself and the family had a really good day too. :)

Pictures from the morning are up on my flickr account:

Mainly the blue sticker group as that fitted with my sessions.

Still working on the on-board video.

Sorry it's taken me a few days to reply. Bit of packing going on at home. Great day out - I can only reiterate others comments about CKC, Omex, Llandow and Ken. Marlboro Car is now being readied for big trip down under.

Will keep you all posted on progress

Yep, great day out, despite the heavy rain shower in the afternoon. Made for some interesting rear end action on my MAC1! Dried out lovely late on though, and good company as always.

Big thanks to CKC, Omex, All the people at Llandow and Ken for getting an unbelievable deal of £75 inc lunch!

I'm definitely back there next year!
