Well hopefully the weather will be nice this Friday. It will be my first track day of the year.  8)
The day is fully booked & organized by a friend of mine which will mostly consist of the retro cars, old mark 2 escort's with bigger engine's etc.

If anyone has a spare 5 minutes & is in the area you are welcome to come & have a look if you haven't been to a track day before, see how they work & what they are like, It may even inspire you to want to book Abingdon?  :D

Failing that just come along anyway, it is free to get in. It will be the first time this year to give the westy it's shake down to see how well the new modifications work.

If you are feeling brave enough I will also be happy to give anyone a passenger ride around the circuit. I have spare helmets but if you have your own then bring it along :)  Passengers will have to pay £10 though as this goes straight to charity but you can have as many goes as you like & I have a few other friends that will be there & will also give you a ride round.  ;)

We were up there on tuesday(11th), doing the photoshoot and they had track repairs in progress.
Ended up with a lot of small stones in the car, even got some in my ear! Hope they give it a good sweep before anyone gets their paintwork blasted or worse. That was at low speed as well.

Gosh,

I would have gone for that but I don't think I can get there due to work commitments.  Can you get some video footage of the day - it would be good to see it.

How do you think my avatar came about mate?  8)

Iancider

Yeah yeah,  I see what you mean Colin.  But this time could we have a slightly longer video of you on the track? :P ;D

Moleman

If it's dry tomorrow I might.  ;)   I have posted full laps on here mate but that has been a long time ago now.  ::) :D

Iancider

Good luck Colin - wish I could be there.

Heh, looks like the weather is good for you.  Looks like you may have a quick shower or two to keep you on your toes.  Hope all goes well and I look forward to hearing all about it.

Moleman

Today went really well.  8)
Car went like a dream. No problems with it what so ever. It handled really well (Thanks to Dave gallop from track developments  ;D)
The weather stayed dry until the afternoon where there was the odd shower. The only problem was the number of cars there due to a little mistake but we worked around it.  :)

This was after the first time out.

I had to hide from a little shower during the day.

Even met up with one of our members.  :)

Then off again.

This is doing 130mph up avon rise.

Then on it again.

It was a good day so rool on Abingdon in 2 weeks.  8)

I will post a video at some point.  :)

Glad to see you had a really great time Colin car looks really sharp  :) :)

Moleman

Here is a short Video of the day. You will have to excuse the camera shaking in it's case. I will have to pack it with more foam next time.

That was good, I especially liked how you beamed the passenger out at 2min 47! Does that work on WAGS as well?  :o ;D ;D

Thanks Phil I'm really pleased with it now.  :)

Iancider

I enjoyed it - felt sorry for your passenger though - was it nerves that made him bale or was he pushed - to lose weight perhaps? :o

For sale super fast Westfield super-light - no passenger! :P

Bulldog Bri

He didn't bale, he was beamed out :o A bit more special effects there needed and sound effects as well :P

Here, I've got a theory.....

You know when Colin went off in that very location.....in Wiltshire....you know....where all those corn circles are.  Well wot I reckon is perhaps he did a bit of a circle like.....as he came off.......and the the grass grew a bit like .....an' 'e kind of made a corn circle.  So that might just be an ALIEN ABDUCTION we saw there mate.  Keep an eye-out he'll reappear soon and complain of lost time and weird experiencies! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Moleman

It's very simple. I was so quick he ended up a day ahead off everyone else.  ::) ;D
Not really, he jumped due to my scary driving.  :P :P
