Ok, just to gauge interest. do we want a BKCC club stand at Stoneleigh 2010?

Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd of May 2010, from 9.30am till 5.30pm. (May Day Bank Holiday weekend) At NAC, Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV8 2LZ.

Those travelling in convoy with us to Stoneleigh - meeting up with ACKCC at Junction18 M4/A46 Sunday 2nd May 8:15-8:30 AM

If you drive your kit car entrance is free for driver & 1/2 price passenger.

Put your names down please, but be quick so we can organise space...

It should be mentioned that if you decide to come in your kit car, you will not be expected to stay the 2 days on the BKCC stand, just park your car on it for as long as you are around. You are free to come and go when and as you please.

Camping is optional but could be fun, a great chance to get to know each other over a tipple or two.

The most important thing is that we actually do look like a serious club with some cars, and not an empty plot that could have been issued to another club.

To express an interest use 'Quote' button on the last post and add your name.

The plan at the moment is to go up early on the Sunday Morning. There will be a few meeting places around the area, then all meeting up just passed J18 of the M4, Tormarton. And traveling up the A46/A429 with a few stops on route to regroup the convoy.

Just for the record, I was hoping to get a stand next too the ACKCC but this now seems unlikely :( The run up should be great though.

We will be here instead on stand 54F

Still not sure if I'll be able to make it to this one or not,  I'd like to really as it does look like fun.

On a separate note I've had and email from one of the guys who runs locostbuilders.co.uk and they've asked if they can use one of my photo's of my car for their flier!  Needless to say I'm well chuffed.  Apparently they are being printed tonight so I can't wait to see them...

Matt

On behalf of ACKCC, we are looking forward to meeting you all again on Sunday, see you then for the run to Stoneleigh!

Good news on the fliers, you've done a great job on the car so you should be proud.

PS. If you get the chace can you ask them to put a link to our site from theirs?

Am I right in thinking by the directions above that there's nit much motorway driving to get there?

Hi everyone - Guild of Motor Endurance have a stand at Stoneleigh - Hall 1  Stand 72a - please drop by and say Hello.

Check out our events for 2010.  Mallory 6 Hour on 21st May and Italia-Corse in October.

We currently have a team looking for a replacement car for Mallory - if anyone fancies teaming up with a Sylva Phoenix we would love to hear from you.  240 laps for £125 each - no competition licence needed.

We will be over to say Hi on the BKCC stand over the weekend - any chance of a cuppa?

Carol

WALNUT

Sorry. You will have to cross my car off the Stoneleigh list. I will still be going in my camper van. So if anyone wants to lighten there load your welcome to put any camping or heavy stuff in my van, I will turn up at meeting place on sun. Will I be able to park my camper on BKCC pitch on the Sun night, its only a two birth (So not very big) It might be handy for a gathering place. It does have a windout awning to sit under if the weather turns out wet.

Hairy Santa

Hi Guys,

Dont like the look of the weather for Sun/Mon so will make decision Saturday evening as to being soaked for 2 days

lets hope it brightens up a bit

Sorry, I believe all camper vans and non kits have to go on another area. Speedy and I will have to do the same even though ours is a very small weekender.

ACCOMMODATION - STONELEIGH
For anybody who is interested there is on site accommodation at Stoneleigh. The main Hotel has a few rooms at £85 per double room or there is the "Hostel".
The 'Hostel' has twin rooms with two beds and cost £30 per night (or £15 per person if sharing). This accommodation is apparently basic hence the low price.
Accommodation Enquires are Tel - 02476 690123

This accommodation is all on site and walking distance to all events, hence you can have a beer without the need to drive.

Sorry I have to delete some posts to un-clutter the thread, but I've given plenty of time for them to be read.

On another note, I took an executive decision earlier on today to come up on the Monday based on the fact I have no wet weather gear for my car at all and it looks like rain on Sunday. That along with a freezing night in store I figured the brighter Monday would be a safer bet.

Many thanks to all that have responded to my Stoneleigh email, the consensus being that only 1% of respondants are coming to the show, others cant make it due to car, family, or other comitments. (Theres always next year :) )

Nice to see a few people today, shame the rain never really cleared and we were just on the edge of showers all the way back - Sorry we lost you Hairy :o 4 Burger Meals :o Santa & Wallnut.

Wallnut is now the official BKCC events support truck operator ;D ;) Really nice to have a dry place to sit on the stand today - thanks for the hospitality.

Sorry I missed most of you on Sunday and some today but it looks like we had 13 cars on the stand at some point over the weekend. Shame so many had other commitments, maybe next year will be dryer and better attended.

First resonable run my car has done since the winter work, it drove faultlessly, I was very pleased.

Look forward to seeing a few pics of Stoneleigh if anyone took some.

See you at the next meet.

PS. Found a friend for Dave Bences' Onyx while I was there...

Well what a great event, I don't think we all stopped laughing all weekend and usually at the expense of others. A brilliant team event and great company.

This is the new BKCC accommodation unit. It was owed by Tony (Wallunt) but he was religated to squatting. We found the one disadvantage of our new accommodation unit was you needed to make your own coffee, this arrangment needs to be improved for future events..... but on a serious note well done and thanks to Tony who with Pete are finding something very amusing in this photograph (Pete's hand gesture at my expense??).

Brians one man tent with integral garage and kennels. Somehow Brian managed to fit this marquee into his Bulldog kitcar.

The evening meal when Pete (Hairy Santa) decided to purchase four Burger meals because he was hungery, he did allow his wife June to have one of the Bugers but without chips and I helped him consume some of the Coca Cola as it amounted to nearly a gallon of drink... Needless to say we were all mesmerised buy Pete's efforts... well done Pete for an entertaining weekend and great to see your wife June who we would love to see again.

The Bristol Kit Car Club stand which we can thank Phil for arranging

I like this one .....

And Pete may like this one ....

I know that guy in the background, great to see you Richard who just happened to be on the Legend stand for some strange reason....

I suppose we had better have a few Kitcar photos as that was apparently the real reason for our visit.

And the £15 per person per night on site accommodation which included heating and a wash hand basin in your room which I thought was good value for money and a consideration for future Stoneleigh events..

A brilliant weekend.....................

WALNUT

Had a really good weekend. It was good to put some facies to names I never saw much of the car show, but had a good laugh, and found ut what a friendly bunch you all are. and a special thanks to Bri for the lift to the classiest restaurant in Coventry,

'The Gaffer'

Great pics folks, thanks for sharing :)

MicksRedNova

Hi to those few that I said hello to at Stoneleigh. I was busy with the Nova stand and trying to keep warm/dry all weekend and didn't get round to your stand until you were leaving. Maybe see you at a run in the near future or Newark if any of you guys are going.
