Windscreen

Well, seeing as how I'm not able to drive the car until I sort out the starting problem (and it's been Peeing it down!) I decided to look into fitting the windscreen I have had sitting in the garage for the last year or so.

Taking a little longer than I thought, but it will be worth it in the end as we can use the car without having to kit up with skid lids! It will be nice to be able to just get in and drive :)

Once done then I will see about making a soft roof too so runs out in the Great British climate won't be so limited ;)

So when I do eventually get the car to a meet you will understand why the scuttle is a bit of a mess, come to think of it, compared to these pristine GRP-bodied cars the whole thing is a bit cosmetically lacking :) Once it is all sorted I will get some more paint and respray the 'battle scars' from all my Post-IVA tinkering.

Some piccies of the progress to follow.....

I have a screen (some call it a 'wind-break') but still wear my lid. Those bugs are able to dive over the screen and they hurt  >:(

Windscreen fitted now, just a bit of trim to fettle and fit then I can think about making some side wings to fit on the screen edges to take away some of the spray that seems to think I need a daily face wash!

The buffeting is not too bad really, and at 60mph it's still very easy to have a conversation. I've got all the necessaries for fitting wipers so that's the next task. I don't plan to use it in the rain so it's not a priority, but it'll be handy if I do get caught out :) Certainly better than having to wear the crash helmet ;)

Eventually going to fit a soft roof and doors too, I've got 2 sets of hard doors but not sure if I'm going to be able to get them to fit without too much faffing. Serves me right for building a Locost that is 4" longer than the standard :(

Yep, that's the next job. It's not actually not too bad, we went out the other night and at 60mph it's reasonable. I had my cap on because of the sun and it had to be on tight though ;)

I've got 2 sets of sidescreens but not sure whether either will be any good so might make my own.
