Got my r888r's that I bought in the winter fitted to the Hood for road use at last......what a difference!!!! :o

I had the same problem as a lot of "7" drivers, light car and scared to break hard 'cause of lack of tyre adhesion!

Tried a comparison test before and after fitting them with warm tyres......

At 40mph braking hard, the Toyo T1r's locked up with not much peddle pressure.....scary! :-X

At 40mph the Toyo r888r's just "dug" into the tarmac, forcing the nose-cone downwards at least 1.5 inches
and stopping abruptly ....... I was gob smacked, thought they would be better but not that different!! ;) :D :D :D

Amazing the difference isn't it?? When I say I was shocked at the change when I fitted the previous R888s on the Fury in place of the T1Rs, people don't quite get what I mean, I would not have believed it if I had not tried it for myself, they are brilliant!!!

I've not tested them in the wet though!!!

Your R888Rs should be that bit better again!  :o :o

I love my 888's too.  Based on Moleman's advice I went for 13 inch wheels too with high profile tyres - this allows really low tyre pressures for trackdays but I was amazed that they were som much better for road use too.  the only limit with them is that you should not use them when it is really cold because the rubber will crack below freezing point.

I soon learned with the 888's I could use full welly on a corner which was awesome!

Deffo look the dogs doda's...  :P

Not 100% what to put on the Westie for road use, but they look worth a punt...

May go for them for the sprint wheels if the dry and wet performance are good.
