Hi Guys

Been a while since I've been on here.  Lots of excuses, so wont bore you with those!!  Just getting the Tiger out of hibernation ready for MOT etc.  Also got the insurance renewal.  Usual merry dance with Adrian Flux pushing prices up so got competitive quote from AIB around £50 cheaper but different insurer (Markerstudy).  Currently with KGM Classic with Flux.  So look at reviews of Markerstudy just to get a feeling.  They are truly awful.  So back to Flux to beat them up and they give me a competitive quote now from Highway, check reviews, guess what truly awful.  As a comparison looked at KGM reviews, surprise surprise absolutely awful.  So who are you guys with and any experiences?  Luckily in the 7 years so far have not needed any claims only a recovery due to putting a whole in the sump.

Not sure which way to go, basically save £50 and go with a shit company from an already shit company??

I had a year with AIB, they were really helpful. Second year I had 2 policies with them which was ok. This year asked for another quote on a third car and they were crap. So looks like all change again when renewal comes around. I'm the only driver of all my vehicles, less than 2k miles on each per year, 45 years driving experience, never made a claim and a clean licence.

I guess the problem with reviews for insurance is that nobody ever writes a review to say how good their insurer is but they are quick to vent off when its bad. Even when you are getting good service you probably have other (bad) stuff on your mind still.

Always worth ringing around the various specialists each time you renew, I never accept the renewal quote!

Thats not entirely true. When I started using AIB I gave a glowing review on both service and price, which was why I insured through them the following year and added my kit car as well. However they became a much less attractive proposition this year.

Apparently although we earn our NCB over years of careful driving and by not making any claims against them, after you insure 1 vehicle you revert to being an inexperienced nutcase of a driver that has to pay an extortionate amount for the smallest low powered car.

Choosing car insurance nowadays is just a matter of finding which of them is going to rob you less

So basically you pay your money take your choice and hope it all goes well!!  Thanks for the replies so far, good feedback as always.

'The Gaffer'

The time to tell is always when you have to claim, but all I can say is AIB have been very competitive for me and I have 2 cars and a van insured through them. They are also easy to talk to and not pushy like some others I have had experience with.

Exactly mate, I could not agree more Dave. I always haggle and play one off against the other. They DO want your business (they just don't know it yet!)  :)

All with AIB and as far as I am concerned good prices (£130 to £185)

I agree lots of us have been impressed with the service from AIB and have said so but they are the broker, not the insurer - the OP was saying about reviews of the insurers that the broker's quotes were based on.

I'm insured with Markerstudy as the Underwriter with A-Plan.

I can tell you that they are really good if you have an accident which I unfortunately did last year leaving Track
Developments in the lanes.  :-[

They coughed up £1500+ and repairs to the other car for repairs and spraying......they didn't even moan about
the special paint finish!! ;D ;D

What's more, I only paid £50 excess! :o

All three cars are with AIB as well. And as long as the price is a good one I'll be staying with them. ::) Just about to do mine for another year. Inc commuting.

That's reassuring 'cos AIB placed me with Markerstudy. I'll still try not to crash though!
