Subject to adverse weather conditions, we ( my wife and I) will be going to the Classic Car Meet at The Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton, which will be for our fourth time. There are usually between 100 - 150 cars ( and bleary eyed crews ).
Kit cars are welcome ( but not modern saloons - Tin Tops ).
The event is from 10.00 to 2.00 (£2 per car) and the cafe there will be open for hot drinks and food .  There is also an optional 30 mile road run (£5) through the lanes and villages.  If anyone is interested in going from our direction - A37, Let us know and I'll suggets a pick up point enroute.

Looks like a great day, but (A) I think my car may maybe still off the road, and (B) I think I might be a bit worse for wear on new years day :-[

Hope you both have a great time and thanks for posting the event.

Having 2 young kids, I think the days of spending News Years Day recovering are on hold.......so I am tempted by this.
Where can I get more details, google isn't helping!

We shall be starting off the day, nay, New Year with a breakfast at the Farrington Gurney Little Chef  A37/A39 (BS39 6TQ) before setting off at 9:50 down the A37 to the Classic Car Meet. This Little Chef, which opens at 9:00am, will be serving anything from scrambled egg and smoked salmon to a full english, that can be washed down with a mug of coffee or tea.
We would be pleased if you can join us at breakfast and/or the 25 mile run down the A37 to the Meet. We expect to be on the A37 near Shepton Mallet (A361,A371 intersections) about 10:00am.
Cheers Casino

Subject to weather , hope to put in an appearance. Will be second time (as evidenced by Casino's picture!) :D. Will come direct from home so see you there rather than join on the run down from Bristol

Hi Pedro
I take my hat off to you ( and the guy in the Seven ) for last years event it was sub-zero all day.
Lets hope this comming New Years Day Meet is dry and a bit warmer.
Look forward to seeing you down at Yeovilton and anyone else who might be bored, sober, hungry or just wants to blow the cobwebs away and take their car for a run.
Cheers,  Casino

What happened ? Well, after breakfast at the Little Chef (A37), we formed-up & convoyed down to Yeovilton ( thats a convoy of one !). It was  brilliant driving on empty roads although I slowed up a bit after the back end started to break away on some black ice.
Briefly met up with Pedro, where we were amongst 96 others.
We did the optional 30 mile run through the local lanes and villages, catching up a very nicely turned out Jag XK120 which in turn caught an MGTD before returning to Yeovilton and the warmth of the Restaurant.
An enjoyable days drive, having clocked up just over 100 miles by the time we got home.

Fair play to you guys, I take my hat off to you. Glad you made it home safe and sound.
Love the convoy of one ;D

Me? Well I was sound asleep after getting into bed at about 4am ;D
