Bulldog Bri

I've had a quick chat with Matt from ACKCC and they could be up for this on the 27th June.

The plan would be for us all to meet at the same large layby near Axbridge (about 10ish) then convoy over to Weston find a cafe and have late breakfast.

BKCC club to first meet on the Bridgewater Road layby (as before) 09:30 then run on down

Simply the route would be (for us) back up the A38 to Winscombe then off on the A371 through Locking, joining up with the A370 and striaght into Weston and on to the front.

First, anyone know a decent cafe in that direction (Parking and grub)
Second, a prefered route  ::) To the one above.

Just want to add. This was our biggest event last year, Lets make it bigger! ;D

Sounds good to me, but for myself and others that never went last year, what layby are you talking of. For the Bristol Club to meet at

Tony

Bulldog Bri

As you are coming out of Bristol on the A38 Bridgewater Road. There is a large layby over looking the Cumberland Basin, towards the Clifton Bridge. I will put a map up later.

This laybye near Axbridge is it easy to find.   Me and Stew are coming across the mendips down Burrington or through Cheddar onto the A38.   Which is the b est route do you think?

After looking at the AA autoroute i would say yes, but i will be following Paintman but you are welcome to join us of course

paintman

Me and Stu are going over the Mendips and joining the A37 (Wells - Bristol road).

If you like you can join us there, just before we turn off for Cheddar on the B3135 at Ashwick to go down the Gorge.  There's parking off the road.    P.M. me if you like.

Ah well, we will have a great time anyway. Hope they get a few more takers though as a good convoy along WSM beach would be ace :)

I expect we'll make enough noise without them, going by the decibel readings taken by Stu last Saturday.  :P

Are you still allowed to drive along Brean beach....just along from Weston..... that could be fun if the tides not in!! ;D

I'm not sure now you come to mention it. Salt water is a bit of a rotter anyhows.

The main road might be a good cruise.

Bulldog Bri

Anymore takers for this event? Kitcars + Sunshine + Food + Beach = ;D sounds good to me :)

Bulldog Bri

Had a quick chat yesterday with a lad at work that lives down in Weston, He can't think of anywhere near the front that could park us all without having to pay beach type prices  :(

So how about finding a pub more in town on our way in and having a drive through the town either before we stop for food or after.

It's only £4.50 to park, so not the end of the world.  I want to be able to have a walk round Weston and catch some rays!! and build a sand castle.

M

paintman

We won't be able to park together anyway will we.  We'll be scattered all along the front I expect. ::)

Dixie

Just park on the beach.  loads of room.

Casino

I can make the (both Ashwick A37 -B3135 & Axminster ) meets and do the run to WSM but I'm going to have to cut and run  (home) from there.  Dinner & footie.
Peter
What time do you expect to be at "Ashwick" X roads, Tony ( Paintman ) ?

paintman

#37
We should be at the "cross roads" at about 9.30am.   I'll P.M. you my mobile no. should we miss each other.

   Tony

Psymon

Would really liked to have come on this cruise, but chillin out at Pilton, and the car is playing up on the ignition front with plug leads burning out on the manofold etc really getting on my nerves as i cant see any way to get it sorted.
A trip to the garage me thinks...

Have a great Sunday.

Cheers Si

I will probably link up with you here which is a layby on the A38 just before Churchill and Langford. I reckon you will be there at about 9.45am.
