Title: Speedy J's new car
Post by: 'The Gaffer' on 28, May, 2011, 04:53:17 PM
It seems a few people have just got new motors so I'd thought I'd add Speedy's to the list.

I've just put a holding deposit down on a new Abarth 500. Its a quick little turbo'd car that's surprisingly spacious and comfortable inside.

She is very pleased with it and cant wait to get behind the wheel.

Speedy with the beast :)

So much for saving some money!!!

Does this mean that Speedy J will be quicker than The Gaffer on track?

Just love red.   Its the only colour for a car.   My opinion obviously.

Nice little car if that what turns you on..... 8)  How many mpg does it do.?  A lot I bet.

Money.................Spend it while you can....You never know what tomorrow brings...

                                            Denzle..... ;)

Speedy is only little so it suits her down to the ground - I can drive it too with loads of room to spare :)

Urban consumption: 33.2 mpg
Extra-urban consumption: 52.3 mpg
Combined consumption: 43.4 mpg

It may be small but it packs a punch..
160 hp at 5750 rpm with peak torque of 170 lb/ft at 3000 rpm in "Sport Mode". Top speed is 131 mph 8) 8)

I managed to get an Abarth 500 as a hire car once and it was great, you'll have a huge amount of fun in it i'm sure!

Nice one Phil. Have seen a few around Arbarth's on my travels but not many! Agreed red is the only colour for it as well.

Considering Speedy has been driving an auto for about 5 years she got back into driving manual within 10 mins - remarkable :)
