Title: Hi all starting new build...
Post by: Alfa Ric on 30, June, 2010, 08:28:54 PM
Hi all, new member from Swindon.
Starting to collect bit and bobs to build my Kitcar
Picking up engine (V8) next Friday and if I have the time gearbox/rear axel on Saturday.
Very nice Site this one and hope to have a helping hand in my quest because I have lots of questions about all the building process.

Thanks everybody.
It's a 71 Rover V8 twin carb ( SU something)
Right now I don't know exactly what type of car/model its going to be but will have to decide in the next few weeks.
Going to a local scrap this Saturday because I have seen there a nice chassis with GRP body (body is damaged/broken) or even if it is a kitcar or one of UK small production cars (there is a plate with S/N on it) will take some pictures to see if someone can identify it.

If you use a car that's already beed registered then you can just put it back on the road as a rebuild. No IVA test required.  Much easier than having to go through the hassle of VOSA and the DVLA.

Which scrapy is it in?

Don't worry I'm not going to run out and get it before you, I've got enough cars to work on  ;D
