Title: this is me
Post by: bernih on 09, September, 2010, 11:30:43 PM
hi,

i've joined here on the suggestion of a guy i work with.  he's got the R1 engined Mini, which i gave loads of advice (good or otherwise) on fitting.  we're now working on building a front subframe with proper geometry coilovers.

my car is a Mk1 Escort which i've owned for years now - trust me it's a bit like a kitcar because there really isn't much original Escort left.

don't know if you guys have heard of the car but i helped a mate build a Hollier Mosquito about 15 years ago - chassis 003 to be precise.  Man, that was ugly but dynamically very good.  Rear engined with Mini front subframes at both ends and a tubular chassis.

A warm welcome to the club Bernie.

Your car sounds very interesting. I have a soft spot for the Mk1 - used to do a little rally navigating in a Mexico.
That was back in the days of Roger Clark though :)

Any cars are welcome here that no longer reasmble the original so please make yourself at home.

Never heard of the Hollier Mosquito - Google here we go!!

Hello Bernie!

Thanks for the advice already on my heavy breathing engine.  Hopefully we'll catch up at a meet sometime.  I've only been in the club for a few weeks but it seems really sociable and friendly so i'm sure you'll get on just fine here!
