It should be mentioned that if you decide to come in your kit car, you will not be expected to stay the 2 days on the BKCC stand, just park your car on it for as long as you are around. You are free to come and go when and as you please.
Camping is optional but could be fun, a great chance to get to know each other over a tipple or two.
The most important thing is that we actually do look like a serious club with some cars, and not an empty plot that could have been issued to another club.
More info will follow.
I know its early but I need to gauge some interest in order to reserve our stand. Do you intend going this year? Camping? Put your names down please so we can get an idea of numbers.
1. 'The Gaffer' Camping + Kit Car
I will be there for the day with the best weather.
Working Sun 1st,but off Mon 2nd May, so if there are a few k-cars going on the Monday,I'll join them.
I'll be there as well. Never miss this one. ;D
8)
Long way off but I hope to be there - prob Monday
Holiday has been in for 2 months :D Not missing that one :)
My aim (which isn't always that good) is to drive the 442 there, we shall see.......
JB
Yep, weather dependent I'll be going. Probably on the Monday?
I will be there in the chuck wagon ( camper)
Tony
Yes, I'm up for this. Either day (unless it's raining). Probably just a day trip for me.
We shall be going up and back on the Sunday only.
We wiil make our own way independently with an early start.
It is, as always, my owners club AGM up at Stoneleigh and we will be on their stand, HOWEVER, we will come along to the BKCC stand and spend some time with you all.
Can I also remind everyone that all the worlds horsey types will be clogging up everywhere within 5 miles of Badminton ( and that includes the suggeted Run to Stoneleigh start venue - both Sunday and Monday ).
I might be on holiday I think.....usually go to Greece around that date.
Know for sure nearer the time.
Tony
Rain or not, me and the other half will be there on the Sunday, in the JBA Kit. :D
There will also be the JBA stand but Im sticking with the BKCC. Its the JBA AGM but the club has as much carisma as a damp rag with correspondence on the forum few and far between.
There is some fairly cheap accommodation on site if you don't want to camp as last year is was fairly cold.
There is a Hotel Lodge which is the only thing they seem to advertise and is the nicer option but more expensive.
There is also the Hostel which are smallish rooms with two single beds in each, heating and WHB. The toilets are shared. Last year it was £30 per room (£15 per person). I think the Hostel rooms tend to be used for the farm workers, this being an agricultural venue and the Hotel Lodge is for the gentry.
Accommodation Enquires are Tel - 02476 690123

I should have asked those that intend coming whether they are driving their kit and want to park up on our stand albeit for a day or weekend.
Looks like we will have the BKCC HQ there anyway. Thanks Wallnut :)
This is quite important really as I need to know if we need the stand thats been reserved for us. Sorry.
I am planning to be there, hopefully on both days. Not sure about camping at the moment as I dont live too far away and the weather may also be a factor if it turns out like last year.
Looking forward to seeing people there.
Rich
I'll be going as well. Car currently having a soft top made up and a few other sorts which will be sorted in the next couple of weeks.
Will most likely be there and drive up / back in the GKD, so would like to make some use of BKCC HQ tea making facilities at some point ;).
Most likely be only the day though as still hard pushed on the time front.
We have been invited by the WSCC to join them to drive at the Curborough Sprint Circuit the day after Stoneleigh (Tuesday). Anyone interested please check out the details in the Motorsport Section.
Just thought that I would give this thread a "bump" and make a correction to my earlier posting ( 11 Jan ).
The Badminton Horse Trials are now on over the Easter Week-end and DO NOT clash with Stoneleigh ! Yipeeee.
So I'll be using the Fosse Way all the way.
So here's the inscentive to all you "allmost finnished" builders, and Scorners. ONLY EIGHT WEEKS TO GO.
Yeah im interseted in going as well be on the sunday for the day

Stand has been booked based on initial interest above. I am sure we will get a few more names down as the event gets closer.
I will be coming if the weather is on our side..Could have another new friend join the club and the convoy up.
I might be able to come up Sunday afternoon, with a view to staying overnight,is any one staying overnight in a tent, can we put a little basher up in the club stand area? I probably would'nt get there until tea time Sunday and I would like to bring the kit car straight onto our stand. Is this possible? Could someone who is staying overnight,pm me their mobile number. This is all provided the weather is good, don't fancy driving up and back on Monday.
I am going to have to pull out of going to the show as they have moved the dates for us to deploy to Germany I am gutted looking forward to it
I want to go, but it will be weather dependant. I have no wet weather gear apart from a Tonnau, and I dont do wet tents.
So Phil can you put me as provisonal?
If I come it will be Sunday lunch time and camping. But only if dry.
Ta Mark

Foggy. yes just drive onto the stand. There may be a few camping including myself but I may only do Monday ready for the sprint event the following day.
We will know much closer to the time who's doing what and what the weather looks like, that will be the time to exchange numbers.

That's a shame mate, can you go AWOL
Yeah I wish but its not worth going to jail for and getting bust to private !!!!!!
Here we go then. 1 week till the show, who's going up on the Sunday morning convoy. I'm planning on leaving around 8:45am from The Giffon pub, Bridgeyate. (Where we met for the French Boules day last year). Then going up the A46 to the show.
1. Bulldog Bri + Anna
I will be there for the meet up in the camper van, but dont do early tea/coffee. lol
I think Pete (Hairy Santa) and mossey, are travling up with me and camping.
For mossey, read Mozzy. lol
Tony
Not going to make the Sunday we are travelling back from Cornwall and it'l be a hike all the way up there!
So we will be going on the Monday now. Hope to see some of you still left from Sunday :)
Think a new thread is needed for the convoy! ???

Edit: Here are links to both day threads, put your name down in either if you want to convoy.

A big thanks to Tony for supplying the camper HQ and refreshments. The committee will make a small donation towards Tony's expenses.
I have put a few pics of this year that members took into an album. Take a look at the gallery. http://bristolkitcarclub.co.uk/smf2/index.php?action=media;sa=vua (http://bristolkitcarclub.co.uk/smf2/index.php?action=media;sa=vua)
