Title: Santa Run to Queens Suare meet.
Post by: Moleman on 09, November, 2014, 09:22:40 PM
This is something that is just for fun & totally dependant on the weather but who is up for meeting at the Cafe Retreat on Durdham Downs BS9 1FG before heading to our normal Queen Square Meet?

We would meet up for 8.30am to head down in convoy down whiteladdies rd, Park St then Baldwin St to Queens Square getting there for about 9am which should ok for parking in December.

You will how ever have to at the very minimum wear a Santa hat to join in. Even better go the hole hog & put a Santa Suit on. And it you really want to go nuts then you can even stick some fairy lights on the brighter the better.  :o ;D

We do have our Christmas meal that day but you don't have to be going to that to join in with this. It just means the people that are going to the meal & doing this will be going in 2 convoys dressed as Santa's.  :P

Even if you can't make the convoy from Durham Downs you can still turn up to Queens Square in a Santa hat or outfit.

So what do you think they say we are a bunch of nutters so who wants to prove them right?    :P :P :P :P :P

This will really depend on weather of course.  :)

If there is any life left in my santa suit following the event linked here then I may well be up for a bit more santa suited fun. The trousers are definitely a bit worn out already!

If anyone form the Bristol area hasn't witnessed the madness of Santas on a Bike then check out the routes through town on the website and come and wave us past (and throw a few quid in one of the marshalls buckets for the childrens hospice)

I'll post a couple of pictures from last years event when I get home.

I dont think being nutters depends much on the weather in this club but beware of a full Moon on club nights!  :o ;D

A few pix from the 2013 Santas on a Bike - A pretty good turnout of Santa's. Can Santas in kit cars beat that?

Try a mass email Colin. Experience tells me as soon as the season is ending people are less likely to view the forum. Also lots of cars are sorned for the winter.

Hope you get a few along :)

Just to say we won't be meeting by the cafe as first planned but at Avon Gorge, Circular Rd, Bristol, BS9 1PG
It's still on Durdham Down but on the corner where the Ice Cream van normally is & where you can see the Suspension Bridge.

There is a public toilet at that spot. It's the only cliff edge spot on the circular rd where you can see the bridge.

Weather forecast for tomorrow has improved a bit - now saying it shouldn't rain until the afternoon. Hopefully okay for the downs/Queens Square then. I'm still fully intending to join in the morning activities but will have to dash off at about 10:00 and won't be able to make the lunch. See you tomorrow!
