Dave Holliday and me did an MSE Open Pit Lane Day at Combe today.  Here's some footage of Dave's Westfield taken from the Spire.  1min 17.1secs was the best lap.

Cheers Adrian

WOW. Thanks for the video. You guys are quick(or mad),you passed the other cars with ease. Nice to see a polite driver waving as he overtakes somebody. That EVO(I think) put up a bit of a fight at the end nearly losing it. Do your cars handle better the faster you go?

About two mins later, the EVO ended up planted nose first in the barriers at Quarry.  The writing was on the wall as they say.  Dave's given me a target - I was struggling to stay in touch.

S**T happens. Were you both on the limit? Dave seems to be a very good driver in a very fast, well setup car. Perhaps I could get a ride one day :P

'The Gaffer'

Nice vid Adrian and a good drive :) Looks like you both had a great day.

Dave has got his car really sorted now and it feels really well set up.

I think if I was filming, all I'd see is the backs of your cars ;D

I want a go.  Not sure the Cobra is the best tool for the job.

Have been looking at a Z-Cars mini!!!

Sounds like an excellent plan.  I'd like a car for wet track days but no garage space.

You can have a ride anytime.

Nice video Adrian, I tried my camera again but it wasn't particularly good so i might bin it and try something else. That armco did take quite a whack from the Evo! It could have been worse though.

I think a Z cars mini is obviously an awesome bit of kit!! Crazy cars...

Personally I would take the Cobra round without a seconds thought. They were partially designed for the job after all and could be very good fun indeed!!

I am going to let Trackday solutions have the Cobra so that it can be finely tuned for use on the track.  May need to put a bigger engine in.  My engine is a 3500cc low compression V8, I chose it so that a "Blower" could be fitted, but now fancy a trick 4.4Ltr out of a TVR.

A company called a "JRV8" can supply a crate engine but it will be circa £3K, maybe a bit rich for me.  Plus if it sells, that puts a spanner works, have not got a plan B.  Got 2 guys coming this weekend to look at it, but I am not holding my breath, there are too many tyre kickers out there.

Talking about Cobras.....met a chap in the pub last week. I knew he had a blue Cobra as he drives it a couple of times a year pass my house (lives just down the road).

Started chatting to him about it..... asked him what kit it was.......big mistake :-[

Turns out that its not a kit but the real thing in alluminium....all 7 litres of it :P

No wonder he only did 150 miles last year!!!!!!

oops. Apart from the 'value' of a real one, I'd rather have many of the kits out there than a genuine.

I too would love a wet track day car. As soon as the rain comes its like driving a bucket of water on wheels around. I was thinking about an E30 BMW but i seem to remember my old one being lethal in the wet too!
