We have a dry spell coming in  8)
Check you battery is charged and get them connected ready for the sun shine  ;D
I will hook mine up later and use it for work tomorrow. Can't wait to get back in the seat  :)

A trip to the post office can sort the sorn out.. As for the charging issue :( I had the same but mine was a duff battery cell.

The only reason I came off the road is that the car had issues and the tax ran out end of Jan. I couldn't really afford it so thought I'd be a tight-A and wait until the spring.

Just what the doctor ordered  ;D A little cold first thing this morning but coming back home was so nice.
I love my Mk but for the IOW trip ear plugs will have to be a must  :P
Lets hope the weekend is nice for us lot.
Only down side was half-term traffic but that was a small price to pay for a smile..

I was out in mine this afternoon. Trying out the new set up Dave Gallop did for me nearly 2 weeks ago. I'm very pleased with it.

Well I went out for a quick run today, going to drive to Portsmouth this week so that I can "explore" the route for Jul - it'll also give me chance to tinker en-route as its running a bit rich at the moment so I can fiddle on the way down rather than on the driveway and annoying the neighbours!

Nice 45mile run out today with Charlie out and around the Forest of Dean, got the car absolutely filthy but a quick wash down when we got back and all is well.  Hot chocolate for Charlie when we got back he was a bit cold but hopefully he will warm up ready for tomorrow as we have a boys day as the girls are out to a dancing competition.  Mountain biking and Tiger time!

Not quite, no further north than Tetbury.  I had fun although a rough economy assessment indicated 15mpg so I definitely need to run a bit less rich!

Done 100 miles today.. All trouble free apart from lack of grip with my uniroyal rainmasters.
Really must get them changed or better still find some 13" wheeks and rubber.

You need to get yourself some 888's if you want abit more grip. I have found them pretty good. Even in the wet. (not snow though :()
The best place I have found is Steve Harkness from Harkness tyres in Chipping sodbury mate.
He is on the dicounts list for us.  :D

I know Colin but its that £400+ price tag which I can't justify, well not just for road use. If I done track-days like you then yes 888's it would need to be.
Guess I will have to put up with the tail being HAPPY  ;) :D :) ;D

What about AO48 or T1R?  They seem to be highly regarded.

48's are just as pricey as 888's.  T1R's are much better value but nowhere near a 888 in performance.  I cannot understand why 888's are so expensive these days. :(

Finally managed to get out for a blat early this morning.  Empty roads, cool air, Westy was flying.   :D

Lambda readings from new TechEdge showed fuelling was all over the place when pottering along.  Thankfully, near spot on when going for it.

I'm not very good on the mechanic side of things rob so is the lambda a fuel sensor for the westy to show fuel reading? or usage?  ???  :-[
Or have I got it completely wrong?  ??? :-[

It reads the oxygen levels in the exhaust gases and displays the air/fuel ratio.  For pump petrol it should be around 14:1.  Readings below 14 indicate a rich mixture. 

It's not all straight forward though.  I couple of years ago I had a problem with one HD lead which sometimes caused that cylinder not to fire.  This had the effect unburnt air and fuel was sent down the exhaust.  The lambda sensor looks at oxygen levels so it thought the engine was running lean as there was so much unburnt air in the exhaust.  Consequently, it caused the ECU to add more fuel, just what it didn't need.  The consequence was everything running too rich.  Then the ECU back off the fuel.  This whole thing manifested itself as rough idling (and me scratching my head).  All sorted now but this is the challenge of running 'closed loop' systems.
