Merlin 2+2, By Paris Cars

Well it's come to this, I've got to sell off my Merlin, to make room for my other projects. I got this car 4 years ago with the intention of finishing it but other projects have got in the way, It's been stripped right down to the bare chassis and repainted, I had the chassis converted to take the 5speed, type 9 gearbox from a Ford Sierra.
Model:- Merlin 2+2
Engine:- 1.6 Pinto. Sump off and cleaned, Head off and valves reground, engine flushed. Good compression
Gearbox:- Ford Type 9, 5 speed
Running gear:- Ford Cortina
Wheels:- Compomotive, Full refurb.
Interior:- White leather, Blue carpet.
To help with IVA'ing the car, I've moved the indicators out to required positions, rounded the bumpers edges, have a padded dashboard for the car.
These cars were the top of the kit range of the 80's. The complete kit sold for over £2k and is a very solid build, good thick layers of fibreglass (5mm) and still a very strong following in the owners club. A nicely finished car can easily sell for £8000.
Selling for £1700 ono.
The car will need to be trailered away as not road legal...... YET!

So grab a bargain winter project and a beautiful car for next summer.

This will be on Ebay soon ;D

Grin-a-lot

I still think that's a great looking car - just don't have the time/skill/space myself.

Does this mean the "7" will be on the road soon?!

Bulldog Bri

Don't know about soon. But certainly getting closer.  :P

Shame to sell it after all the hard work you have put into it,

couldn't you just use it for a few months

first to see it grab it mate

Moleman

Thats a shame mate. It is a nice looking motor.  :)

YellaBelly

Shame it's got to go Brian, but sometimes they just become a very expensive paper-weight and we have to make the decision to let go :(
As Darren said though, get the Locost done and IVA'd mate ;)

Bulldog Bri

Must admit can't wait to get the Merlin out of my garage and get moving on the 7. It's taken up to much of my time.  >:(

There's been loads of interest in the car over 2400 views on the car and over 150 watchers. first bid came in on Thursday, but hoping for a bit more bidding towards the end.  :P

I find it's normally best to place something on so it finishes about 11-12 on a saturday night. As if anyone is keen on it & watching it with interest will usually of had a few drinks so they bid more after some beers.  :D

You should get at least the asking price mate, That is a bargain at your starting bid.  :)

Agree with Colin thats how I ended up with the Scorhill  :D :D :D

Bulldog Bri

Yeah, normally I'd get my auctions to end on a Sunday eve around 9-10, but this is just how this one worked out, waited a day for the go ahead to upload the ad.  ::) so it's ending a day later.

Just hope they are a true buyer not a mucker. It's a German bidder. So now waiting for them to contact and work out pick up.

I had the same mate when I sold my bike. Bidder was in Germany. All went well tho. Turns out he buys a truck load of bikes from the UK and sends them back to Germany..
