bulbs to led change over

I have just changed over from bulbs to LED's and everything works ok, but
indicators are a bit fast. Bought and fitted LED flasher relay and nothing at all
on the flashers. Could just be a dud relay I suppose. Could put resistors on
each Led lamp, but not gone that route before. Anyone done this change before
and if so, how and  where did you get your relay or resistors.

I have done this & you will need to add a resistor on each indicator. My mate ordered me them from his garage to make sure I had the right one. I can look at mine & see if they say what type they are?

Hi Benckmark - resistors are one way but you can get electronic flasher relays.  Conventional relays rely on having enough load to flash at the right rate.  Electronic devices always flash at the right  rate.  They are noramlly under £10  each and a pin compatible with standard devices.  In some cases they will handle conventional bulbs and LEDS mixed but it usually best to go all LED.  Make sure if you have are three pin version or the rarer two pin type.  this should take only minutes to complete.

Changed my van bulbs to LEDs ordered canbus error free bulbs, swapped them over and they worked fine, but the internal indicator little green square in dash flashed at double speed like a bulb was out.

I changed the entire lamps, sealed and waterproof( just in case I have to go to the Somerset levels )
So you got the leds that fit the original bulb holders? I intended doing that with the dash lamps.

The Led and standard bulbs run different resistance, so if you do not put a resistor in it will flash to fast.

Lol. Just been doing this to our cars as well. put the 4th indicator in and the flashing stopped, as I guessed not enough current going through the flasher unit. Duh So I've just left them in the rear lights for now. I've also got Stop/Tail bulbs but they don't seem to want to stay in! so have left them for now till I can play in the dry

Ha, success !!

I have soldered short wires to the 3 blades on the LED relay and blades on the other ends.
Plugged into relay socket, but reversed the polarity and it worked. I still have bulbs in the
side repeaters and dash warning lights but doesn't seem to make a difference. Hazards
work fine too. The relay isn't audible but in a 7 who cares.
